A couple weeks ago I was cruising the CTS-V VS the world group on FB and a thread came up where a guy had bought an ebay "boost" ready 102mm TB so I read through it and to my surprise despite a few hiccups, he had it on his car for over a month, and 4-5k miles of driving at the time(this was a few weeks ago) and was very happy with it. He updated it regularly throughout the whole period of time so I think if he has any big issues we would know. I went ahead and bought one for my build, $198 to my door, which is a machined billet unit. Apparently they have a cast unit more like factory for even cheaper. Just curious if anyone else has a success story with them, mine came in the mail today along with my 10%OD powerbond balancer. I don't usually buy the knockoff stuff but at these price points I wanted to give them a shot.

Jason is on here... @JAustin

I haven't seen anything posted here about it yet...

This would normally be my opinion also, but since he had been sort of testing it out and updating what he had found I thought I would give it a chance. I will say they must be selling quite a few of them because the price went from 160 to 198 in about a month and a half. If it doesn't work out then no big deal, if it does then great.

I installed one on my 2011 three months ago and it is working perfectly. The supercharger is ported and with pulleys it is making 15psi of boost. The TB has handled it without a hitch. I had bought a ported 90mm, but am loving the Chinese 102mm. 650whp with e85 and stock heads, cam, and aftermarket catalyst.

glad to hear another success story from them. I opened up mine last night and aside from the torn gasket that came with in, I was pretty pleased. It appears to be good quality as far as the machining and the anodizing go, for now I call it a good purchase.

What intake are you planning to use? I would really like to go to a 102, but want to keep my AirAid intake, maybe take the boot off and get a piece of rubber tube that goes over the outside.. Could you measure the OD of the TB where the intake mates up? Thanks!

I’m in for more results! The link wouldn’t work for me but I think I found which one though, I bought a mamo ported ls7 than kinda regretted not going 102 so I think I’ll buy this put it on and see how it works and if it don’t still got the LS7 on the bench.

Well ordered one but looks like delivery won’t be for a long time so see how that goes...

There’s plenty of interference. This shouldn’t even be a discussion. You have to open the stock snout to where the outer edge of the o-ring is located.

I haven't been here for 5 years though, and I'd venture to say there are at least a few other newer people like me learning as they go as well. Maybe they(we) are curious just how much interference there is? Perhaps I just enjoy working through an issue and seeing it with my own eyes? Maybe some people wouldn't think to search out that answer beforehand and since this topic is active it is good to mention for people considering this part for the first time.

Dang, I can't find the previous owners email or phone #, the V I bought from him is supposed to have a Stage 2 Blower Ported by Jokerz Performance along with Ported Snout, for all I know it already has a 102 Throttle body on it. He didn't list it in the Mod List he gave me but may have forgot about it.

Found the build sheet when he had work done to the car in May of 2017, it says "Stage 2 Blower w/90mm" does that mean it's only a 90mm Throttle body ? Doesn't make sense to me, I thought the V2's came with a 92 Throttle Body ...

Unless I am missing something...you will prob be mid to high 6XXs, depending on the tune, on a dynojet, pump gas.

With the price of the tb, I think it is def money well spent. If a NW or comparable US version was available for $3-400, I would feel differently about these Chinese units.

At least in this case, the supplier has good customer service to work through issues (@JAustin worked with them because they pinned the actuator incorrectly and troubleshooted him through it) They have some aptitude and are providing decent product, at least according to initial reports.

Mine went back together with the ported stock 87. Running good at idle and throttle response is a damn giggle factory. The 102 will probably happen in the spring along with another goodie or 2.

Reading this thread makes me remember a throttle body problem I had a decade ago...
It was a different platform and a different situation but it highlights why something as simple as a throttle body is important.
It was on a DSM. The throttle body was ported and I had a half shaft mod some to increase the flow through it. The car was making around 700awhp.
I was at the track, clicked of a easy low 10 second pass just rolling out of the box. At the end of the run I let up but the car kept pulling, I clutched and the motor revved to the moon. I cut the ignition and brought the car to a stop in gear. Upon investigation I found the throttle body shaft broke.
I found most of the parts in the sheet metal intake manifold.
I ended up pulling the head and found the last missing screw on the head side of a valve. I got lucky I guess.

I realize this is a totally different situation but my point is to be careful of cheaping out on a throttle body. That cheap China Town shaft breaks and it could be costly.

That's why you always blue Loctite the 2 butterfly screws. ALWAYS. Aside from that, I never was a fan of thinning the blade's shaft (for a ported TB)

I've had the "light" version for about a week. I'll be porting out my snout and hopefully get this 102 tb on before the Street Car Shootout at Darlington this Saturday. Would love to hit 130+ on Michelins rowing through the gears.

i tried one of the early r and d units on my V with a real nw 102 on it already. the tb didnt have the same values and without a retune it didnt work for a direct swap on a 102 equipped car already. I didnt think they would take this long to be copied.

He'll play dumb because it's a $200 difference in price. The Boosted versions are actually shorter.

Don’t assume.

Yeah I'm not buying it, to many if's and's or but's for me, a lot of guys commenting on it said it wasn't boosted because it had the longer body style. That & the fact he started out asking $300 then $350 then $400, not sure what he's asking now cause I can't find the ad anymore, I get notices somebody's commenting on it but Facebook won't take me to the ad, don't know if he blocked me from seeing it or what cause I made a few comments about him changing the price so much ...

Dont think so. Pretty sure the blade is gold.
