just the savings in high quality hose and the instal hassle pretty much pays for the new tank.

This is a great thread. I'm sure I can speak for many and say that your time to do this comparison really helps the community

Nice results today!

I was able to get three runs, all at 78*F ambient temperatures. First comparison is the Standard vs MAX speed Stewart in the Trunk Tank. IAT2 delta was 15* lower for the reprogrammed pump - that is a NICE looking curve:

I also compared this run to last year's underhood BMR tank at the same ambient temperature - almost identical comparisons, but the max temp was slightly les due to the standard speed stewart having to fight less line resistance in the smaller underhood coolant circuit (or possibly just variations in the two runs).

One final graph - all three setups all with the same ambient air temps... whalla!

I think that does it for the pump comparison. I data log a lot but I will probably leave it here; save for the "alternate" hose routing and water wetter comparisons.

So far, I have found zero difference with water wetter (3 bottles!) When I added it in on the dyno. But heat soak may have hidden any modest advantage?

So it appears that a trunk tank doesnt really make much of a diffrence until you ice it down, or am I in-correct in my thinking.
You are correct - at least that's what I believe based on my testing.

I feel that- unless you want to ice at the track - a NorCal style underhood reservoir, with Stewart pump and 1" lines as much as possible (along with a track attack or similar) is the sweet spot for intercooling.

If there is further benefit from the additional capacity of the trunk tank, it was offset by the increased resistance from the extra 40 ft of hose.

I like the concept of the D3PE tank but it's notably more expensive.

Heck of a write up, I am leaning towards the trunk tank for the capacity because I do enjoy the 1/4 and 1/2 mile racing.

I already have the reprogrammed EMP pump and the 1'' ID lines, I am just debating on which trunk tank to go with for my coupe. I don't necessarily care about looks as much as I do efficiency.

I'd sell you mine. [emoji6]

Ignition Remote wire

My car is a 2010 and I just wanted to add a pic of the pink cable I tracked down with a multimeter to use as an ignition signal source. Took me longer than I thought to find it. Blue arrow marks the spot. Still verify that you have the correct wire though.
