Hate it or love it I'm giving it a go. I know the possibles issues and backlash this can have. I have just wanted to stand out and be different. Some will say its obnoxious. Some will say it sounds cool. I'm not worried about it as it's a gimic car anymore and it's just about who I am as a business. Showcase some noise and it will all be good.

Nah - it's for sound, so it needs to run all the time. When the engine spins down, I'm sure the sound changes....gotta capture that! ;)

Karch with all do respect this was kind of enthusiast post not a vendor post.

As I am an enthusiast I would hope this would be treated as such.
It's an understandable assumption on Karch's part. And your point is valid as well - but I and others also kinda assumed maybe this was a teaser or prototype build, since you did specifically say that is was about who you are as a business. I know you didn't directly say you intended to develop and sell anything, but don't sweat it, things can be moved back or whatever. No biggie - he was just doing his job, and not everything out here is black and white. I am sure the rest of us just enjoyed the read as fellow enthusiasts.

God I hope not. But if I am seeing this right, it looks like the damn belt is rubbing against itself on the closer side of the idler pulley. I'm kinda thinking/hoping that's where the noise is coming from. Either way - this is not something I would do for the sound. Maybe just my tastes, but that's not pleasing to my ear...

It would sound like that, but without all the screaming people jumping out of the way.

A couple thoughts:

Cogged belts are very sensitive to alignment issues. A little misalignment can cause it to eat itself.

The high-pitched whining noise is caused by air trapped in the grooves between the pulley and belt. Some well-placed small holes in the pulley grooves can help mitigate the effect.

WTF Brett. Are you sure? lol.

My prochargered raptor was louder then this. I loved that raptor. Pissed off my annoying neighbors at 5 am in the morning. I dailied this vehicle for 2.5 years and now my buddy Dailies it I'm sorry a whining whirring noisey supercharger brings a smile to my face. It's not a daily driver at all. I have my ecoboost f150 for that. The looks on people's faces while cruising around makes me laugh my ass off. My buddy who has cogged lightning got yelled at in traffic saying his transmission was going out lol!!!

Next mod thread: Larry extolls the benefits of removing the supercharger belt for better sound and improved MPG!

I know I know, it's a circle of life thing- im just still on the "throw obscene amounts of money at a perfectly good car" phase.

Then there will be regret

Then there will be a "daily driver " while the modded car waits for weekends.

Then the modded car gets traded in on an SUV or hybrid!

About 5 years ago Bubbs took me for a spin in one of his customers V2 that had a cogged Maggie. That thing was obnoxious and when he stopped to get gas he left it running the entire time. People were staring at the car like Bealzabul himself was in the car. And there I was without my pitchfork.

Bubb's!!!! I laugh every time I hear his name, last I heard he was modding Volts, no lie.

I am considering removing the noisy 1.9l blower in favor of a 400 shot of NAWS, MPG will be much higher, it will be quiet like an old man caddy should be, plus imagine the weight savings from removing the blower, two HX, pump and ice box.

I could sell the WXM hood, put stocker back on and raise the engine 1/4".

Someone talk me off the edge!!!!

Though I do like the sound, I'm not sure if it's something I would want to hear constantly while driving the car.

Also too, kinda makes me think of Mad Max and the V8 Interceptor!

Just install a really big stereo system with lots of speakers and really bad grounds.

Or buy a foxbody with a bad power steering pump.

F all these naysayers, Brett. I like obnoxious and different. (just not on my car lol)

Give them hell Brett. While your at it, make sure you do a xpipe delete. You may keep the mufflers if you wish. ;)
