I dont know if this will fix the issue but the metra interface module has a micro usb plug in it so you can update the firmware.
I went to there site AXXESS Firmware Updater Axxess Integrate, Comprehensive Interface Products and downloaded the software to update the interface
and mine was version 1.8 now its updated to the newest 1.9 firmware.

Btw my black interface box has a date of 3/22/2016 on it if that helps

I am planning on installing mine next week along with the kiwi 2 dongle and infd adapter for the wideband sensor.

....Btw just checked the aswc-1 steering wheel controller interface and that needed to be update to. Mine was on 4.09 and now its 4.11

that was literally the entire holdup with my purchase...if i went with this setup i needed a way to get wideband on the new headunit.

id have a little doubt about the imfd add-on's accuracy however it should seemlessly integrate with the OBD2 adapter and be able to be pulled up in dashcommand.

it seems a second option is the innovate OBD2 adapter that allows you to daisy chain all of their products to it. Unsure if that adapter is compatible with dashcommand though.

The 1.9 interface update won't fix the climate control issue it all about the initial install sequence that Rob mentioned.

The aswc-1 steering wheel controller interface update is important. Mine didn't work properly until I did the update.

It wasn't any of the connections. It was the initializing procedure once everything is hooked up.

I had the door open when I turned it off after the radio was confirmed working. Then I closed the door and waited for the dome lights to turn off. Then keyed back on and it was working. The door is the key to getting it to work correctly I think.

Please bare with me as I guess I don’t understand the “ initial install sequence.” Does this mean I should uninstall the Metra wiring harness all over again? Or simply reset the settings from the radio?

I am also confused the necessary steps of the door. Should I try to install with the doors closed?

I just got my car back from being installed with the Metra kit, I am having the same issue with the climate control panels will not function. I am also having an issue with my DashCommand. I am only able to access one screen at a time. I am not able to click any of the menu buttons on the left using the radio itself. I must be doing something wrong. Any help would be great.
Hit mode. It will take you to the AppRadio section of the radio and the touch function will be working with a menu to the left. If you want to go full screen without the menu on that page...hit mode again.

It's not the install. It's the initializing process.

Just got a email back from metra and this is what they said. Just trying to help out.

Good Morning. So far the 99-3018G has been a great kit and works well. Just make sure the vehicle is asleep while taking out the factory radio, otherwise it may disturb the CanBus system, and things will not work properly until you reinitialize it correctly.

Yes. I just fixed my climate control issue which was all my fault. Just follow the instructions exactly on initializing the interface.

Looking at the dashcommand it looks like auto meters dash controller is exactly the same just re labeled autometer. Kinda curious if the update would work on the autometer one. Partially just because I get those dirt cheap.

My next question would be has anyone done this on a car with an existing factory backup camera? I know the pioneer has camera inputs and whatnot but im not so naive to think it would be a direct plug in. If the camera had to be swapped out is there one that would fill the hole or is there a rear molding without camera available for the coupe?

I really should quit hijacking Robb's stuff.

strapp has an install with a factory backup camera...he states that they spliced the connection into an adapter (sold separately) and plugged into the headunit. metra makes no mention of anything for backup cameras in the install instructions...so yeah...

This is what i am most interested in at this point.

As far as i can tell they likely had a pinout of the radio connector, isolated the lines for the Video + and -, made an RCA connector and just plugged it in. it's not difficult...so long as you have the pinout...and i dont...

so i spent 6hrs tonight researching my ass off to find that the actual camera is a 6 wire camera that plugs into the trim harness that runs inside the trunk lid.

the Vid+ and Vid- pass through this on the way to the front of the car. I wasn't able to find a pinout of a NAV unit to figure out where the vid+/- come in...but thats all you need to grab for anyone wondering...unless the metra harness already has provisions but it's not outlined in the install instructions.

EDIT:

found the needed info in a post about installing factory camera in Nav units not previously equipped.

X4 connector on NAV unit. Pin 5 is Camera+ and Pin 15 is Camera- ---- use these to make a RCA jack for your camera input on new headunit (or another connector as appropriate)

Did you guys follow the wiring instructions for factory amplified or non? I dont have an aftermarket system in the car just factory bose so I followed factory amplified and the sound is low. Any help would be appreciated!

My setup is connected to the factory backup camera. The installers spliced into the factory wiring to accomplish this. i don't believe there is a plug and play solution.,

Factory amplified. Sound isn't low on mine. Running 4100-NEX

Shit so it can be done, ugh....
Take pins 5 and 15 from connector X4...make an RCA jack. Pin 5 positive. Pin 15 negative. Plug this RCA into your backup cam jack on the head unit.
