It's only on their Facebook page for some reason. I had mine thermo coated in grey locally so you wouldn't see the polished through the grill. The hx itself is actually made by Whitehead Motorsports. However, their "kit" comes with that D3 pump which is a piece of shit. It hangs so low you can't get the splash guards on. While I have it on my car right now, it will be taken off when the build is done.

Overall the HX is a nice unit. I originally got it from a vendor I was planning on using for this build (they are not on this site) but once I did some more homework...I decided to switch. Vengeance would have used a different unit but said the quality of this one looks good so we are going to keep it as part of the build.

The parts are starting to stack up. Vengeance is going to order most of them but I am ordering some odds and ends that I know I can save money on and I don't want them to price match the pricing. For example, got this damper from ATI's eBay profile that sells blemished parts that are brand new. This example had the timing marks printed twice and that's it. Otherwise...brand new for $249.99!

The car is also going to a vinyl guy locally this week to get the remainder of the chrome trim taken care of. I also ordered the paint and vinyl to do the calipers in Blu Caelum from Lamborghini. As of right now I am just torn on whether I am going to go with white Brembo or V logo's. Here is a photoshop render of what the final product should look like.

Nice! Ive spent about that much on vinyl so far trying to do it myself. Shadowline, Trimbrite, 10 yards of 30" from Fellers.com

All that and it still looks like crap! I just suck at it apparently.

The blue calipers are looking good in the rendering!

Yeah the cost sucks in comparison to material because it is done as a sheet to do it right which means they throw 95% of it away. I tried doing it myself and failed too. Trying to decide between matte and gloss.

I headed up to Monster Customs in Marietta, GA today and got my chrome window trim wrapped in satin black. It looks so much better...now I just need to paint my side vents to complete the chrome removal part of the build.

Chrome Trim - Wrapped vs Painted

Hello; very nice car! I've got a V coupe and I was wondering why you chose to wrap most of the chrome trim instead of paint it like you did for the side vents. Is it because you might want to have the option of the chrome trim around the windows again one day?

Thanks

#12 ·
What kind of power numbers you shooting for once the build is done?

850whp+ by end of Dec/Jan

When I get around to it I'll make a list of the spec sheet. I have it all here next to me...just need to type it up.

Guess I need to run nitrous now lol

From the guy with a super clean wagon. Thanks man!

So after I got the window trim taken care of today it was time to tackle the side vents. As most of us already know, there is no way to remove these without breaking the clips. So...I got the tape and drop cloths out again with the same adhesion promoter and satin black paint that I used on the the exterior plastic and rear trunk trim and went to work.

We are going to have some fun with it...that is for sure. Looking forward to track days.

Profile shot of the black vinyl and painting after cleanup. Looks so much better than all of that chrome. Now you actually see the car as a whole instead of "ooo! shiny!". I am really happy with the end result. Now I just need to do the calipers.

I'm interested to see how all this comes together.

As of now my buddy/roommate holds the cts-v manual trans 1/4 mile record. He went to the track last Sunday and ran a 10.6

I'm sure he'd be devastated if someone went faster due to the fact he thinks its his purpose in life to have the fastest V.

your car is also absolutely beautiful, I'm usually not a fan of aftermarket wheels on these cars (besides the weld drag packs) but yours work so damn well. I think the blue calipers look amazing, however I think the silver on your car is perfect. definitely the best color contrast I've seen with the factory brakes. It's subtle yet not to flashy.

Did I miss something? Is there a video or timeslip of this magical run?

Complete shit! I was on my Michelin Pilot Super Sports for one. Traction became a big issue later on and I decided not to run until late. 12.99 @ 112 was the best we could get out of the car. It didn't want to stay hooked through 3rd. The 60 foots were insanely bad no matter how the car was launched.

I really just wanted to get some passes in before we started the build next month. It was a great time out for fun but not for getting any times down.
Even on street tires, the mph is really, really low. Did you let out at the 660' mark?

Also, what clutch do you have backing up this 900hp beast?

I'm in Knoxville and want Vengeance to build mine this fall/winter as well. I need to sit down with them and decide what I'm doing soon. Are you going to the GA 1/2 mile shoot out on the 13th?. VR always has great cars and customers cars there. PM sent

Yeah man I should be there for at least one of the days! I won't be running my car in this one but should at the events next year. Brian in GA and a couple of other Vengeance built V's will be running though.

Thanks! I really wanted an OEM plus look with the wheels and I think they came out great. I am really happy with them. Tell your roommate I'm coming after that time! There are quite a few MT's doing builds this fall. Should be a fun shootout.

A guy on Facebook was selling these for 6 bucks so I picked one up.

rsutton - would you mind either sharing the info on here or PM me the type of paint and adhesion promoter you used to do your side vents? I'd really appreciate it. Car looks breathtaking. The camera/man duo make it look as good as can be via Internet.
