Very nice write up and clean install. The Metra kit looks a lot better than I thought it would.

Really nice Write-up! Definitely on the "to do" list in the near future.

Great write up. CAN this be done and keep the rest of the Bose speakers and amps? Basically do a system in stages?... Thanks.

Yes. It retains all of the factory audio if you want it to.

Can the NAV button section be removed or is it part of the assembly?
It's wired together with the rest of that assembly.

very cool. I assume you'll end up wrapping or spraying the kit plastic to make everything match? Possible to recreate the dash texture on the top?
Make everything match? It is already piano black and matches the factory interior. For the top piece, I think I am going to order the non-navigation version. It will clip right in. Our plate is attached to the motorized screen.

Excellent write up. One additional part to add, Am/fm radio antenna adapter Metra 40-EU10.

Going through this install over the last week with a Pioneer AVH4100NEX coming from OEM non navigation unit in a 2009

Also If you're looking to do the pioneer rebate, best buy is an authorized seller and will price match Amazon.

I love Amazon but Pioneer will not warranty their radios if it's not purchased from an authorized seller or give you the rebate.
