So I'd been following this company cause I saw this system on an Audi R8 and considering it's a higher end sports car it caught my attention. I love the lowered look but hate the fact that you're going to scrape the front and skirts on speed bumps and inclined driveways. I didn't want to loose the magnetic ride control with the stock suspension so I did the research and they were able get me a version so I could keep the stock and still be able to manipulate the ride height. The system monitors all four wheels and can automatically adjust independently considering the load. Since installed, scraping everywhere's no longer an issue. My next mod is to put on a wide body kit and wider wheels to improve traction.

Your thoughts?

Very interesting. I love the mag ride and wouldn't want to give it up either. Looks like a nice setup!

Looks awesome. I just got the Accuair VU4 manifold that you have in the mail yesterday for a 1970 C-10 Chevy truck I am have. I have a manual valve bag setup on the rear now and am in the process of adding everything else to put bags in the front. Accuair is one of the best out there. Awesome products. And your install looks very nice. And super clean. Mine will all be mounted under the bed so I dont have the luxury. Mine is a driver and not a show truck.

What do I think? I think you suck. I want to do this to mine really bad right now. Perfect show and go setup honestly. I have had everything from custom tuned track suspensions to digitally controlled bags and the bagged setup was by far my favorite street car setup. Now get some wheels!

Widebody the shit out of that car! :)

Thanks, wheels are next but I've got to wait until I get the wide body kit on it and Icahn ensure they're able to tuck perfectly. Width and offset will play a huge factor once the WB kits on.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any recommendation on the wide body kits. I've only found D3 (which are fkn awesome) but they're stipulation is, is that only they can install it and currently the only shop they have is in Cali. Which means, it'll cost me about $12,000 total. $1200 to ship the car to cali., $8/9000 for the kit and molding in and about another $1500 to paint the car back to original color. AND on top of that, that doesn't even include the wider wheels needed to match. FML

Always open to any suggestion. Thanks,

Im curious as to how it rides as well. Ive owned bagged trucks and felt it was a little to soft. I wonder how the V will handle? I see your on Cypresswood. Im off Rayford

Guys - I'm off Louetta. We're all right around the corner from each other!

Why do a widebody on a coupe? I mean you said for more traction, but you can probably get a 345 rear under the coupe - that's a LOT of grip, especially if you drop something like a 325 drag radial. I can't really see you needing to go wider than a 12 inch wheel unless you are rolling like rsutton with 1200 rwhp. Not meaning to be a butt or anything - just curious what your thoughts are there.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback, I honestly love the set up. It's my project car and as is, it's certainly a head turner when sitting on the ground. As for the ride, because I left it stock, it's still got the dynamic ride which is great but I prefer keeping it in sport mode. The ride is fairly similar to factory; the one thing I really don't like is if I've got it in tour mode and have it set to the highest level (3) 'cause I'm coming out of the driveway it's a little too much bounce due all the air in the bags. But then again, I never ride that high or in tour mode so... Yea, I can deal with it.

As for the price of it, I bought every option available but because I'm anal about my installations, I did all the mounting and wiring of the tank and controls myself. I had a company called Advanced BMW Repair (ABR (cypress wood north Houston)) put the bags and e-level sensors on each wheel since they'd experienced on the installation on a older car. They did a great job and I'm more than happy with the outcome. All and all I roughly through about $6k on it total. The one cool thing I like about it is the wifi option it comes with. You can toy around with it remotely and kids love it a car shows.
Dude - since you are close, I would LOVE to check it out in person. And since I'm considering a kit like this on the wife's car, I sure could use some help on the install - either giving me some direction on how to get it done (this is NOT my area of expertise!) or with what options or choices to select.

I might consider doing that to my V if the handling was just as good - but that's really hard to do from what I hear. Very little can beat the performance of a good spring setup like on the V. It's just that good. AccuAir has put a lot of R&D into engineering an airbag setup that is more geared towards performance applications. But the reality is that it's a tall order. MB does air ride setups on a few of their top end models and it does good, but a hell of a lot of money goes into developing those systems and they are highly car-specific.

Congrats man, nothing like a bagged V to turn some heads. What brand bags did you end up using and do you have any pictures of that setup? Accuair only sells management systems which is where the Elevel comes in but was wondering where the suspension products came in. I did the same type of setup before Sema for my wagon with UAS bags and am interested to see the differences on the install.

If anyone is interested I can get a kit with bags and brackets using Airlift digital for half the prices floating around.

For wagon owners that want a visual...

Interested - clue me in. My wife's Audi SQ5 could really benefit from something like this, too. The SQ5 is a great performance SUV, but to get it to pass US specs, they had to actually RAISE the ride height a good bit. You can feel the car is top-heavy when driving it. I hate it - it needs a lower CG and more planted handling - it's built for it, but damn regulations forced Audi to jack it up - literally and figuratively.

For the widebody I suggest Canepa if you like their look, the wagon kit is $7500 for the parts so I would guess something similar for the coupe kit, or if you have someone local that does great work a full metal custom built kit would probably be the most economical and give you the most input on design.

First bagged coupe I've seen. Looks good. Coming from the Jeep crowd, we used airbag suspensions to articulate over different obstacles, on road ride was way improved over coil sprung setups. But that's not hard to do, Jeeps ride like shit from the factory, how is the ride on your coupe? LukeP333 bag his sedan and then sold it to a buddy in OK. He said the riide was amazing, way improved over stock.

Wow. Sick is all I can say. How much for kit?

I am not a big fan of this but that car looks awesome! I don't think you should go widebody...it looks sick just like that! I even like the wheels in this scenario but I know that a sick set of wheels would really set it off! I would try wheels on it now and forget the widebody! I think you would save $12k and still love it! Only my opinion!

I know if you go wide then the wheel will be bigger so find a local V guy with cool wheels and try them on.

Sorry, can't watch the video at work, which company did you get the bags from? Been looking for a setup to raise my car to get over obstacles. Do you have pictures of the installed bags (the actual components)?

I have also read other people having trouble with the separate level monitors, there was a guy on here that had one or two fail, have they addressed that?

Bags are usually associated with flashy, overly blinged out cars, etc. When you say "bagged", folks automatically think Civic all cambered to hell.
Also, they have a specific ride height window (air pressure setting) that makes the most of the setup. Riding around slammed to the bump stops or over jacked up, they ride like shit.

Originally I went with all AccuAir, including the Bags and elevel management, but use caution with AccuAir's bags because they're only rated for 150 psi.

A stock V will put these at their limit of 150 psi so if you plan on adding power you may want to upgrade.

I ended up staying with the Elevel manager and changed to Airrex racing struts. The AirRex struts are rated to 450 psi and the shocks are extremely high quality, and have had no issues with a decent amount of power...

Yes I had to eliminate the magnetic ride and the air ride is either extremely good or exposed the OEM magnetic ride as being over rated because the car rides much better now. It also self adjusts better and quicker with the Elevel management.

For those that don't like the look, I'm confused because when driving it looks like a perfectly lowered V and when slammed it looks badass. I can also raise it up to 4x4 mode to clear pretty much any obstacle.

I can adjust the pressure and height for better launches at the track as well...

To each their own though.

I love my bags and can't imagine not having them now.

that thing is legit, how much are you in and do you have much specs on the kits you used to make that? hands down a spectacular look!

^^^ Ding, ding, ding we have a winner!

good looker, Freedom!

Freedom: very nicely done, I also looked into getting Airrex initially but then again I didn't want to loose the Magna ride GM's bragged so much about... the concept's brilliant in theory but now that you've confirmed the car will ride just as well without it then at least my options are open. At the moment is't not an issue but may be sooner or later as I intend to get the RWHP to to at least 850. I'd imagine running that much psi. through the bags would make the ride a bit more rigid and it would pretty much compensate for the loss of the magnetic ride feature.

Thanks for the info; I still plan on working on the cosmetics first and then I'll focus on playing with the HP.
