Anyone sub dexcool for G12?
So.. I'm cleaning up the intercooler brick today, and the dexcool that came out is definitally pink like the Audi's G12.
The prestone stuff I have from the G8 is orange.
My hyper-anal syndroum is telling me 'you need more pink stuff so they color's don't mix'
I know from experience that G12 and Dexcool are chemically nearly identical, most of the difference being PH balance and different inhibitors (which don't act as a Plasticizer and cause class action suits..). That Audi/cheap VW people often went with Dexcool in problem cars versus paying $15/quart for a bottle of G12++
Anyone use this as a top-off or substitution before though?
The few DIY tests I've seen performed with regard to galvanic corrosion and thermal transfer properties always place G12 ahead of anything else.
Just a little apprehensive using it for the inter cooler system I suppose. Everything I know says it'll be fine. Someone just tell me to go do it.
