I'm in need of more traction and have been recommended to go with the MT ET Street S/S but i'm seeing people complain about roughness and vibration and they are simply dangerous at freeway/highway speeds in the rain.

I'm using Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position. They are the best tire that i've ever used in the rain, and they have pretty good dry traction, but need to be aired down to about 28-29 and only once they're warmed up.
They barely slip at the top of 2nd gear from a roll

That sounds pretty good then. I would check out the R888 too if you're after more traction. They are a bit loud but not suicidal in the rain and should hook up better than the pole positions.

Have used the S-04 great tire, the R888R is superior in all dry grip and equal or better in wet as well. Loud - as - fuck. see my previous write ups. The bridgestone I liked for all around street driving, really good tire.

I have a couple hundred miles on my ET streets before tearing it down for more power. I didn't notice any roughness or issues on the highway (ran up to 90mph heading to the track). Now that said, messing around on the street, curves and corners, you will feel the rear sway if going at a decent speed. Maybe it's all the years of solid axles, but it didn't bother me, so I didn't find it too much of a problem to bring it back in line. At the track, I was disappointed as I only saw a very small improvement going to these from the F1 that was on the car before. I still had traction issues in first and second.

I'm looking at the 888 or RE-11 once the car is done. If I'm going to need to peddle it with a DR, I might as well run a tire I can push in corners too. At this point I would say go with a good all around street tire instead of the ET Street, the concessions outweigh the benefits.

I love my M/T et street SS’s. No crazy vibrations or anything like that. And you cannot beat the traction. Hands down the best for that.

Which one of the 2 would you run for the 1/2 mile?
I don’t run DRs at half mile events as some of the “tracks” are sketchy. I run MTs in the 1/4 and R888R in the half
