Is anyone using a brake dust repellent on their wheels with good results? What are you using? I have silver painted wheels.

Thanks

2nd for the Armor All product.

Some guys told me about it and i was sold after 1 use.

I'll give the wheels two coats after I've cleaned them...letting dry in between.

It will last 3 weeks.

19.99 vs 8.95 at Walmart. I'd have to be given a can to see if it is "worth" it.

What I want to find is a really good way to the grime that is deep on the wheel without having to roll the car backwards, put up on a lift to rotate the tires.

your best bet would be to have the wheels ceramic coated by a professional. I remove then, deep clean them, the apply 2-3 layers of coating via a paint spray gun, then bake with IR Lamps.

Chemical guys H7 hybrid detail spray seems to work pretty well and make the dust wipe off easily. Just don't get it on the rotor, it spots them up pretty bad and seems to react with the dust compound (not hard to remove just very apparent).

I stocked up when Advance Auto had it on clearance for $1.75 a can :)

The AA does help protect so dust builds up less and dust blows off easily with compressed air BUT when I put it on a freshly washed polished wheel it makes it a little less shiny.

I don’t think there is a perfect solution. It’s bad when you can’t drive your freshly washed car 1 day and still have the wheels look good.

Guess I'm not all that Anal about Brake Dust, a run thru the spray car wash now & then seems to get most of the dust off or at least enough that it's not really noticeable to me & that's good enough for me ...
