Sadly my 2018 build 10/17 just started the trans shudder (both V4 & V8) at 2,200 miles. I read on the Camaro forums the TSB has been revised numerous times and the triple flush and TC replacement does not work. The latest post state new transmissions are being ordered & installed. I cringe thinking about taking it to the dealer to argue it has the shudder. Those that have done the triple flush, did this really fix the problem?

IMO, this tranny issue makes it hard/costly to mod a V3. IOW, it's a real bummer!

I also have a 2018 V3 that started the transmission shudder at about 2,500 miles. It is already been to the dealer to have the transmission fluid flushed. It was a complete flush not the three separate fluid change deal. The shudder still remains. The dealer said the next step was to replace the torque converter but he says they are on backorder and has no idea when they will be available. I really like the car but if it's not fixed on this next attempt I will be lemon lawing it. This car is just too expensive to put up with this kind of problem.
I sold my 2016 V in August for this reason. It had 5600 miles after the 22 months I owned it.
Disappointed with the V having this issue, after reading on here I was not going through all the BS at the dealer.
When I traded it at the Cadillac dealer the salesman and the GM said they never heard of the transmission shudder. They sold my car in days.

Mine is getting the TC swapped tomorrow, did the single flush (which is the revised TSB) and it returned. FYI, there is no real issue with these cars, they had the same problem in the Escalade's/Vette and it is very well known. My dealer has done many of the swaps and had none come back.
Stay on your dealer, they ordered my TC about a week ago.

I had the same problem in 8th gear along with slippage and hard shifting going from 1-2 and sometimes 2-3. Dealer diagnosed and replaced valve body and that seemed to solve the problems, although the service department asked me to pa attention to the shutter in 8th gear as that can indicate the need for a new TC
IMO, this is a horrible illustration of how GM is running its business!
This was a well known issue within a few months of the 2016 V3 release. By 2018, wasn't GM prudent enough to put in better fluid and TCs? If so, why do the 2018's still have issues?
It appears many on this thread currently agree with me that the TCs are an issue. However, our "in-house" GM mechanic (who appears much more competent than most!) strongly believes it's not the TCs......

So, what's really the truth and how much chance is there GM will completely fix these issues before our warranties expire?
Are they incompetent or lying? Neither is good. Of course, when they sold the V3 a few days later, the GM and salesman were told the car was sold due to the transmission shudder. Do you think that information was disclosed to the new buyer?RobertRW said:

This seems to be an ongoing headache for GM engineering. The latest revision to the TSB last week now ads the 2019 model year and eliminates the need to replace the transmission fluid filter. Interestingly, the bulletin also states:
...Important: Do NOT replace the torque converter or transmission assembly for this condition. Engineer reviews have proven that replacing the torque converter does not provide a long-term solution to TCC shudder. A revised service procedure will be released in Q1 of 2019. If the vehicle experiences a repeat shudder condition, this document should be followed again.
All part replacement claims will be subject to engineering analysis. Any part(s) determined not to be defective will be subject to a possible claim debit....
So evidently a better fix is coming in 2019.

Wait, are you saying that there is a setting to turn off the V4 Cylinder Deactivation? I have a 17 and haven’t found it in CUE settings...

you have to do it in the tune, or there is a device you can plug into the ALDL that will turn it off.

I find this interesting, they replaced my converter about a month ago, and did so without any problems. I had the full flush and fill done on it back at around 7000 miles when it first started doing it.
This isn't just a V problem, its any vehicle with a 8L90. my buddy got his converter replaced in his Colorado zr2 a few months back after the flush was done.
If the problem was solely the fluid, then why is GM still using the same factory fluid in the 2019s? And, if it is the fluid, then why not replace the fluid filter?samgauto said:

It's the plug-in device (Range AFM Disabler) frequently purchased by Vette owners. You might want to PM RobertRW since he might have purchased one he no longer needs.

I was the first one to post about the driveline shudder way back in Jan '16. I cant believe its going on 3 years now and GM hasnt fixe the root cause of this issue. There is no Fkn way they dont know what the root cause is. With it affecting this many models for this many years, they know. I believe they think it is going to be cheaper to come up with new excuses on what bandaids the symptoms and taking care of it every X miles. It s a pain in the ass and they probably realized it would take a redesign to fix it. Since mine is tuned I only feel it when I manually downshift, anyone else catch this yet? The problem is minimized for me so I dont care anymore but there are thousands upon thousands of other customers that paid for a quality product. Its not what they received.
If I were you guys, Id lawyer up and make GM pay for this. I tried to fight them early on, on my own. They didnt take me seriously until I lawyered up. Find the the best Goddamn lawyer out there and make them do the right thing.

8L90 shudder is a nasty problem along with the infamous full size truck “Chevy Shake”
I don’t know how GM gets away with it.
I have heard the next gen full size trucks addressed the Chevy shake which leads me to believe they know exactly what it is and it’s too expensive to fix it.
I imagine the shudder has a known design flaw, that will be remedied by the Ford 10 speed.
