What supercharger upgrades are truly available?

Hello everyone, I'm a newb to this forum but have been on the other one since 2005. I'm in the process of picking up a 2011 Vagon and I'm looking into the available supercharger options. I think whats out there is listed below but would appreciate any corrections or pertinent info from those that have gone through the same process as well. Essentially I am weighing the trade-offs now. Primarily I am interested in bang for the buck and keeping the car a sleeper since it is a wagon afterall. I know I won't go for a complete engine rebuild or stroker so I need a blower that will maximize what the stock engine with heads and cam can put down. So here is what I think is out there:

KDI - Whipple 2.9. Makes the best proven power from what I can tell, only downside is that you need a new hood which doesn't fit into my sleeper definition but doesn't disqualify it yet either. Its essentially a blower only kit meaning no injectors or TB included. Pricing isn't bad for the blower but have to consider the ~$1300 plus paint for the hood.

D3 Performance - Local to me and seem to carry all of the Kenne Bell line as well as a what I think is a Magnusson 2300 upgrade. Their 2300 comes with injectors from what I can tell and their 2.8L comes with injectors and a 102mm TB. Seems like the bigger blower fits under the hood too. They seem to have all kind of options but no one is talking much about them which is causing me to question why not.

G-force -TVS 2300 - Seems like a good option. Maintains factory IC brick. I haven't seen a pump gas dyno of it but definitely a good option given the pricing. Not sure what comes with the kit except the blower itself.

Wait for me - Magnusson TVS 2300 - Unclear what is truly available from them. Are these even still available through them?

Fastlane - 2300 blower - seems like they buy from GM and maybe modify it to fit but not exactly sure. Looks sketchy to me but least expensive.

Thanks in advance for helping me get informed and ultimately decide...

Bang for the buck I would get a ported stock snout and blower from KDI or Gforce. No one talks about D3 because its at least twice the price and less performance of a lot of other options out there.

Welcome to the forums

Lots of choices, take your time. What are your power goals and budget? Is this your Daily Driver? Take your time. Let the people on the forum help you. We are all willing to help. When your ready, spend your money once on labor. Get your parts, The tuner who is going to work on your car. Good luck and welcome to the club.

Thanks guys for the welcoming and the feedback. Overall sounds like most feel the stock blower can handle alot of power which is great news. It is going to be my daily driver but I have a spare car so I can afford some down time...

I want the wagon to go over 130 in the traps (don't all laugh at once, but I truly believe this is possible). What seemed to make sense in my newb head was to go with a bigger blower, methanol, and some good full lengths to start. Then when/if I got bored and couldn't make the number, add the heads and cam. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade and up to my last car, I tuned them all myself. I'm coming out of a Mercedes E55 and tuning options don't exist without Win OLS and I couldn't justify $4k for a single license plus another $2.5k for the code base. For the V, I'm thinking of getting a good base tune from someone reputable, and refine it on the road with a wide band. A&A is close to me and they seem to be pretty reputable so may go to them. Anyways, keep the info coming since it is a very different world to have options again since in the Merc, they were pretty limited...

Not laughing about getting a wagon to trap 130, that's my goal come spring after my next (and probably final) round of mods - what's in the signature +

Ported blower / NW102 TB / 102mm intake / custom cam / swap to 9.1" lower / post boost meth, guard dog's spacer

My wagon has always felt faster than its dyno numbers and hopefully in the next few weeks I'll finally be able to put a time down to see where I really stand.

From what I've seen the Hennessey TT kit isn't something I'd want. Air/Water IC, as well as pipes hanging under the chassis . I don't think the turbo kit is available For purchase

Looking under a caddy..i dont think u could do them thru the chassis..to much going on under there...im sure u can replace the w with a/a no problem..bet it csn be tucked up closer.i bet i can make it happen if somebody wanted a TT kit on the caddy;).. the same guy that does the hennessy kits is ding my kit on my 02gt..the one he did on the ford gt looks pretty bad ass..

Isnt KDI still selling a twin turbo kit? I never saw or heard of one sell but they used to have the kit. Was around 14k I think

1. Hennessey is a thief. (Might as well just cut him a check and right it off during tax time.)
2. D3 is WAY too expensive.
3. The stock 1.9 is capable of a lot of power. Since you want a DD, I would stick with the stock blower, upper/lower pulley combo, injectors, HX and headers to stock muffs. If you want to do a cam and heads, you want to match the cam with the heads. And then port the blower to match the heads.

No worries. I believe Charlie is the owner. They are quite busy there, lots of Vettes, and when I drove by, a few V's as well.

I know of one guy who didn't like their work, but I think they had an engine built, not tuned. Again, one complaint, that I have heard of, doesn't make it/them bad.

i contacted them for parts, received all of them, used the springs, and plate mount for the front, love the products I then called on one of the double tunes with a flip of a switch, so they sell it for less than 1000$ and wanted me to ship my fully built CTSV to them in california, 1500$ shipping each way total of 3,000. then wanted to keep my car for 4- 6 weeks while they did the install, then i would have to have it tuned by them m HAHAHA my fucking HAHA. I then ask if they would be willing to sell me the part for asking price and i would sign a non disclosure agreement, they said no, they have to do everything to my car, I will not do that, nor will i ever do any business of any kind with them, GForce is the only one to touch my car, they know my car, they built it, if any thing messes up they know whats up, I was trying to buy a part from d3 not have them tune my shit.

I want to buy a windshield , do i have to send my car to mexico and have them install it? LMFAO

Same here, when I first got into V's I wanted to buy a bigger blower from them. They wouldn't sell it to me or the speed shop, wanted me to send them the car....no thanks
