Hi fellow CTSV fans,

I am posting this because I’m just still in shock. My CTSV was stolen right out of my driveway 3 weeks ago and it all sort of hit me today as I filled out my total loss insurance paperwork. I looked for 6 months to find that baby and there was not a mark on it. We don’t live in a bad area at all! If I go buy another one, you think my insurance is gonna be way up or you think they will treat it as a fluke? I only had her for about 5 months but it was worth it. I am still surprised.. it was a 2016… why would they go for a 10 year old car?

Well I have to suggest when storing your key fob inside your house use a faraday cage, this will prevent the fob from being duped from outside.

Maybe look into an aftermarket anti-theft device like the one shown below.

Best of luck on the recovery.

I know for the Chevy SS crowd, thought was initially it was fob cloning, but that turns out to not be the case. Thieves don't need to see your fob to send a signal that works to unlock/start the car with their current tools.

Hi Newbie. I'm sorry for your loss and fee your pain. My V2 was stolen from in front of my house about a month ago. It was low mileage and super clean, and like you I had been searching for a nice one for about 6 months. I only had it for a month before some *&#hole stole it! Your insurance rates shouldn't go up as it is considered a comprehensive loss, same as if someone hit you.

I'd like to see what others on this forum recommend for anti-theft measures for when and if I get another one (I already ordered a Faraday box!)
