Evadale, TX?

But Midland, TX?
(Confused, curious....

and too lazy to google)
I suppose if one were to work in the PB, race at Evadale, and live somewhere between, you could build a story around that. Then see a pic of someone you know’s car on a flyer…

Internet sleuths need to be clever and can’t afford to be lazy 😉

Better pic of just the flyer and not a screenshot. I’ll probably print it to hang in the shop. FWIW, I think Pine Valley near Lufkin is reopening.

Wow! This is Deja-vu -ish...
1. I didn't know that Evadale HAD a track.
2. I just realized... that I have raced there
3. but that was Forty-nine years ago
4. when it WASN'T a track
It was simply a bunch of local hotrodders, without permission, racing on an "unused" corporate airstrip owned by the Kirby Lumber co.
No FBO, no lights, no night time flights, and no lock on the gate.
It appears that someone eventually made the idea official in the near-forty years since I left the area.
My memory has eroded (so I'm told) but I remember that place! It was a stretch of concrete in the East Texas Piney Woods near the edge of the Big Thicket!
No guard rails, no lights, but the surface glowed in the moonlight between orderly stands of loblolly pines

Im probably around your age, I can’t imagine you being much older 🤦‍♂️. Evadale has hosted some very competitive racing the last 15 or so years. In an earlier life I raced in Rusk (closed), Eastex/Porter (closed), and Pine Valley (on/off) as well as the more popular tracks. In the major cities.

I’ve always had a better time at the old “country tracks” than the cookie cutter big tracks. San Antonio was always among my favorites Redline too. Wichita KS has (had?) an awesome track out in the cornfields as well. I wish I could have made it there more

I don’t mean to imply I was ever a “big time racer” but it’s been an awesome hobby I’ve enjoyed the last 50 years and made a few lifelong friends along the way. I’m not pushing it very hard anymore either

Please excuse the absence... had one of those "horrible sports injuries" during unit sports and BBQ that left my foot at an angle that it really should not have been possible.

Now that I am off the cast and have enough ankle mobility to operate the pedals, I fired up the V2 to at least air up the tires and replace the stale gas. I decided to bring it to the abandoned Chateau Aeroport-Mirabel, while in between I tried to get some pictures of Château Montebello from across the river and also stopped at Hawkesbury as well as Carillon Canal National Historic Site of Canada alongside Carillon generating station.

I know the feeling. I had my right side rotator cuff repaired two weeks ago. Damn tough just to drive and sure as hell impossible to shift!

Not sure what you are describing, but I had a full tear from playing ice hockey over last winter. They had to staple it back in place. The real fun begins this week. It's called physical therapy. NO ONE has said PT is easy.

I was referring to the specific tendon that might have torn.
There are four tendons in the rotator cuff.

If you watch an animated video of how it’s repaired, it’s pretty wild.

Good luck with the PT. It’s long but it seems to work well if you put in the effort and stay with it.

We were authorised an extra-long weekend for the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, so I embarked on a "Two Sounds" road trip to see both Parry Sound and Owen Sound. Yesterday was spent arriving into Barrie, my base for the next few days; along the way I drove through the highlands of Central Ontario at Haliburton County making sure to stop at the county seat of Minden, hobbled across both bridges of Coboconk, as well as making a return trip to Kirkfield Lift Lock (previously visited in May 2022).

Thanks! I’ll message you next time I go.

For sure. I come from the Elsinore side, my buddy from the OC side, so we get to scout for cops prior to letting the cars eat.

One CTS-V, but how many Mustang GTs?
I’m pretty sure every Mustang Ford ever made was there haha.
