Is it worth it? Has anyone dynoed before and after? Think about adding delete pipes/ ported snort with 2.85 pulley/ and port my ls7 TB?

Mine picked up 14 rwhp with cat delete pipes and tuning. The only other mod that was on the car at the time was Air Raid CAI.

Any gas smell? That's my fear. I didn't run cats on my vette and if I drove it to work, I smelled like gas. Nothing like a meeting where you have a suit on and smell like you pumped gas at shell all day.

If I stand closer than 2 feet directly behind mine, there is a slight hint of gas. But back up a little there is no smell at all.

WD did u have a intake and tune then put the deletes on and returned and u picked up 14hp?

Yeah, every mod I got was in steps and re-tuned after every mod. That way I could get a idea what every mod added in HP. The CAI was added first, then cat delete pipes and tuned again.

I definitely had a gas smell with the cat delete. I sorta' got used to it, but the wife didn't. Was a quite a bit "raspier" as well with some back pressure pops on full throttle lift offs. Not good. (with SW 2" headers as well, stock mufflers). Ended up putting in some hi-flow cats and is perfect now. Still smell a bit, but only if sniffing around and the Mrs. doesn't notice. Didn't dyno with just the cat delete, but lost 3 HP with the new high flow cats put on. Well worth it, but if running higher boost and the resultant increased heat, I put them in so I can take 'em out pretty easily and just a little bit further back since I've heard of a few "burning up"

Thanks for the input

you will notice a big difference if you just bolt up a 3 inch xpipe with cats. the stock system is small and crimped on the drivers side

Well I already have sw cat back. I just don't want to do headers I don't want it to be to loud. Is it a lot louder if u have a cat back and add delete pipes?

It's a little louder. And to be up front before you decide to make the move, you will get a back firing sound from the exhaust if you are running at higher RPM's and let off the gas all the way. That can't be helped when you release the pressure into a 3" exhaust. Its not a overbearing sound, I kind of like it. But then again, I like it when people tell me that thing don't sound like a Cadillac.

Yes. 2" Stainless Works headers to 3" pipes, cats gone, X-pipe to remove the bad factory restrictions, 3" all the way to the stock mufflers. Definite gas smell, quite rough/loud at start up. Much better with cats in. Can really tell the decreased backpressure with the headers with very easy throttle tip in.

Ok so I installed b&b cat delete pipes to replace the primary cats. I had the crimped section in the drivers side by the cats, and the crimped section by the stock x pipe replaced with round pipe. I left the secondary cats in their positions.

The boost dropped approximately 1-1.5 psi on the stock gauge. It is ever so slightly (but just noticeably) louder. A little bit of raspiness at idle. And occasional pops during engine braking.

The smell is noticeable but bearable. I have a very sensitive nose so it might not bother others as much.

Can't tell a difference on the butt dyno. I haven't even reconfigured my methanol for the new boost settings yet.

Anyone in or near OC, CA who wants to hear it let me know.

I picked up 14 rwhp with tuning after the cats were deleted. As you said, the smell is noticed but its bearable.
