2.5 upper 9.6 lower on 416 stroker 14.5 psi boost, then changed lower to 9.1 and added 2 degrees of timing ,12.5 boost on 9.1,ported supercharger did nothing

so you went from a 9.6" lower and a stock blower to a 9.1" lower and a ported blower and made the same power at 2 less psi of boost? I would not say you gained nothing to are making the same power with lower blower speed and less boost, that sounds like a gain to me. Put back on the 9.6" if you want more power.

When I did mine I lost boost. Added more boost picked up more power. Who ported the blower? Try and put a 10 inch lower. You won't find out unless you try it.

Don't go by what everyone says. If you don't try it yourself you won't know. I would've stuck with the stock cubes myself but it's to late for that. How much power does it make the way it is now.

Did you turn the tc off?

I knew that was coming. My car was not making the numbers and my tuner didn't turn the tc off. After I asked my car started making power all the sudden. Just trying to help.

OK, I must admit, again, that I too was a bonehead and ran mine at the track with TC on. I hadn't run any car with TC before, at a track, and always keep it on normally, so I just did a brain fart. I realized after I got home.

To be honest, after a couple of runs, I realized my IAT's were really high, so I was more focused on that.

But, after having some time to think about it, I think both the IAT's and TC really killed my numbers. I just wish is wasn't scorching now at the track now that summer has arrived there (105-109 today), though only 70 here.

Wasn't that blower case scored from carnage? Maybe I'm thinking of something else? Possible you're not getting even air flow through rotors, ie passing around lobes? You should've def saw a gain but you don't need to go down with your cubes as you're not seeing as much boost ie heat. Rockeys was running the 9.5/2.5 combo.

Hell, if you control the IAT2s you can push it harder. I ran a 10" lower, 2.5 upper with stock block but gassed it post boost with meth and my IAT2s were the same temp as ambient all the way down the track! It was fast at 134.5 but not quick because the raised stall converter was hurting my launch and I couldn't get any lower than a 1.72 60'.

The blower case was perfect,no gouges what so ever, you couldn't even get a hair between case and rotor pack ,find out what's going on with those turd tpis so I can scoop one up from you when there working properly lol, ultimate will be sending me his to test on my car with a custom 102 intake and race fuel tune

I say skip the 9.6 and go straight to 10+. Especially if your going to run on race fuel. As far as I know there is no indivdual cylinder or bank tuning. It would be nice. By the way nice numbers.

You need a 102mm tb and our 4.5 inch cold air. Your setup is pointless with a 90mm tb and a Airraid. Boost will drop a tad so pulley it up!

I have a ported 90mm TB to 102mm ported snout and ported sc. 2.5u and 9.1l. You guys think I need a 102mm tb and 4.5" cai? I'm at 612rwhp. 16lbs of boost. What do you think I would gain if so?

#32 ·
Yep what Mike said. On that note I have been using a tpis 102 and haven't had a problem with it. You can get one and if it doesn't work send it back until you get one that does. I tested a lot of different TB for NW and I finally got one from him that worked better than all the rest but it was still not 100%. I would go with a Tpis as I have never had one close on me. The NW has better drivabilty and is a better made piece but it would always close on me. What we need is a NW with a ls2 TB motor. Seems as though that will never happen? We also tested some TB's all the way up to 107mm on the dyno there was no gain over the 102 mm at 880 whp with 22 psi.

102mm TB/intake I picked up over 30rw/25tq

Two of the 3 fastest guys have spoken,I feel very privileged lol,def going 102 tb with Gforce intake, race fuel tune on 2.5 10.0,I will post up some numbers when done

#39 ·
What brand 102mm TB you guys recommend? I have a ported sc and snout.

Never had a issue on a CTS-V with a NW 102mm TB. I think it's due to the distance from the rotors. I've had them slam shut on 2010 camaros with Maggie's and whipples but the rotors are only a couple of inches from the tb (on a camaro).

I tried a TPIS on 3 different Vs and had idle issues with all.

Rest the dyno. Just sayn

I have never seen or had a Tpis tb close. They do have some drivabilty issue's. I would rather have a Tb with a drivabilty issue than have one that you can't go wide open throttle with. I can close a NW on my car at will and it is located down stream on the intake pipe. Not in front of the rotors.
