Question about Torco High Octane Accelerator....

So my car went into 21st CMC for several mods (link to post here)

After spending some time speaking with the owner, he recommended that for track days, I add the Torco High Octane Accelerator to my tank. He said there was no use adding it for normal driving days, but for track days I should use it to help ensure no detonation problems.

I plan on running nothing but 93 octane in the car and asked them to tune it for 93.... Will running this Torco in the car really assist? Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance...

It's just one more safeguard. I plan to do it after I'm pulleyed. Unless you always get gas from the exact same pump, there could be slight differences in quality or octane (and really that could happen from the same pump when they refill the underground tank). The Torco minimizes that possibility and helps to ensure you have adequate octane at all times. It's not needed every day because you're not in boost for extended periods under normal driving (theoretically).

Might make you run slower, if your not tuned for the octane. If you are tuned for 93 then run 93, raising your octane to 95 for example gives you a minor detonation safe gaurd at best.

You would be best off tuning for the higher octane or checking for knock on the tank of 93 on your way to the track, also I would race with a half tank or less fuel anyways

Problem with Torco is... It burns extremely dirty and fouls plugs fairly quickly (changing plugs in our cars sucks ass BTW). Also not the best thing for your O2 sensors.

I am with Lt1z. I would just add a couple gallons of 100 instead of Torco.

I ran a Torco equivalent once, 8 OZ in a full tank and it turned all my plugs an orange color. I dont know how long they will stay orange but I know "Duck" posted its the chemical in the product. I think people have said it doesnt harm anything, but it doesnt look great if you pull your plugs out lol. It did help band aid the detonation I am seeing on my car.
