Automotive parking light Tire Automotive tire Wheel Hood

Automotive tire Water Road surface Grey Asphalt

Car is new to me and I’m trying to get it sorted out. Are these the wrong offset ? What is a tire size that will actually fit in the well ? These look like they have rubbed the paint off the fender lip and destroyed the tire !

Supposed to be able to run a 305 on non lowered cars, but I never did.

When you have to quantify ride hight, it's because the tire is too big and you're hoping you don't get enough spring compression (or sidewall flex around corners) to cause rubbing.

295s are usually the most you can clear, if the offset is perfect.

Given the quality of DRs these days, I wouldn't go overboard on width. I think the wheels are slightly off in offset and the tire is just too big.

Too bad they don’t make a ET Street in a 28x10.5r17

This car is stock ride height , 12 wide is definitely too much with these rims

Check clearance between the wheel and the trailing arms - you might be able to have the wheels milled a few mm to help. I doubt it will be enough though.

I run 305/45/17 on my coupe no problem. Is this just a sedan issue?

Doorstops have wider factory rears than sedans and wagons.

I've run 15k street miles / dozens of track passes on Welds S71 with 305 45 17 MT Rs with no rubbing on stock suspension and the fenders rolled.

I’m aware us coupes have wider rims from the factory. I just didn’t think a 305 would be an issue on a sedan to the extent the OP’s pics show

Yeah I originally wanted to run the MT 305/45/17's on my wagon too but when I mocked them up before mounting them on the wheels I did not like the fact they were going to stick out from the edge of the fender. The coupe rear fender width is wider than the sedans/wagons btw, hence the wider rear wheels on the coupe.

I run the M&H 275/50/17 (28" tall) DR instead and am super happy with them. Best 60' so far is 1.49 with the wheels-up on the launch last weekend!

That is the tire I’m getting as well , not that I really have another choice anyway ….. I definitely feel a lot better about them though after seeing your pics !!!! Thanks for the feedback

How are the m/h on the street ?
Just as good as any other DR I think, but then I don't daily the car or flog it on the street. I wouldn't drive them in the rain ever either. That being said my tuner is 250 km away and I have driven the car on the DR's on the highway with no issues what so ever.

I was talking about hooking …
OH... well, I doubt they'll "hook" good enough to pull front wheels on the street LOL ;):)
