I read through some of the older threads discussing weight saving measures and felt the need for a reboot of sorts.
Please share your weight saving ideas, approach and logic.
Wheels were described as a nice weight saving benefit which includes unsprung weight, which I will likely utilize as I am adding 100 pounds to the front end with a new iron block.

Thank you for sharing.

you could offset the 100lbs in the front by subtracting 100lbs from something else

follow me for more racing advice
I already subtracted 100 pounds from paint.

I am glad I invested my query in your sarcasm. Hopefully that was sarcasm or the alternative being compression and/or intelligence quotient.

What are your intentions with the car? Are you still keeping it as a daily/weekend fun car or are you going to full on track etc?. It’s going to be tough for sure if you want to keep the cad feel. Lighter wheels and lighter rotors would help. You’ll be limited past that if you are trying to retain appearance. In fairness I think omgctsv was trying to be helpful. I’d imagine you don’t want to drive around in a stripped out shell of a car to save weight.

I am not ignorant or a novice to this. My I intentions are to facilitate a discussion that was driven to weight savings, while sharing my personal situation unfortunately some used their vagina to do the thinking rather than how this could benefit others who are performance minded.

gotcha, I wasn’t insinuating you were green or anything. I was just curious what you were planning for the car after the new transplant was finished. I don’t really have personal experience doing that but my buddy has a demon that he uses on the track, he added some skinny’s up front, rear seat delete etc

remove ac, remove power steering, lighter seats, run a light battery, drag racing? run smaller brake calipers, rotors, drag pack wheels, remove crash bar- this is basic stuff man no need to be a dickhead about it
probably get better answers if you specify what you plan to do with the car and if you arent a dickhead who has this fantasy about other guy's wives

It is not basic stuff. We drive a Cadillac. I want to keep it a Cadillac while innovating in a realm that is uncommon. Has a carbon fiber hood or trunk made valuable weight savings?? Was it going to a 15 inch conversion??? There is a member who tracks his car and got it down 1,000 pounds or so.
I want new innovative thoughts on the process.
...or I could just disrespect your wife because you disrespected me.

first off it was an obvious joke, i dont know why you think it was disrespect
second it would make more sense if you said what your intentions are with the car.
So now you have given more info- you just want to offset the extra block weight but you arent making a track car

still ctarb gave you legitimate answers and you were an asshole to him too, so not only do you have no sense of humor you have no class

It's your lack of comprehension that I fear the most.
I made a general inquiry about weight savings and used my personal situation as a springboard for conversion. I will assume you didn't do well in school and your wife has a good job...despite her getting her pleasures from and real man within arms length.

listen dude, obviously you didnt get the joke
and i understand if a joke needs to be explained it looses its luster, but that still doesnt explain your lack of class talking about people's wives. You really are just a piece of shit, so respectfully- GFYS.

like when someone puts up an obviously bad recipe or in my case advice, they say follow me for more
here is a quick example i found online

then you go tattle to the mods, lol, what are you 14 years old? grow up dickhead

Hypocrisy in jest. I'm impressed.

There's a whole lot of cringe in here. Yikes.

As for weight savings in a non race car that's still a caddy. You're working with slim pickings. If you have the stomach for the entry fee, carbon ceramics will definitely help the cause.

Ps.. my wife says good luck

A good old fashioned passing contest. Props boys.

Taking weight out of a V is like the 1000 lb sisters skipping lunch. In the end your still left with a fatty 100 pounds won't do shit.

What. The. Fuck.

Did we go from "Hey guys I have a question...." to "I came in your wife" in three replies, or were posts deleted?
