I run CS reds in mine. It made the rear feel more planted when doing road course work and improved turn-in. Overall I'm happy with them, though the installation was a challenge to say the least. It took a full day with the cradle on the ground to get the stock bushings out and the CS bushings went back in without issue.

The increase in NVH is minor - in your build you will not even notice it over the motor.

Do the CS Reds give you noticeable buzz/vibes/rattles?

Any idea how they compare to the CS offerings ?
Can’t say unfortunately. I could be wrong but I believe they are an “upgraded” version of oem. They were on my car when I got it

I started to remove the old bushings last night. I have read various tales of difficult removals. stripped all-threads, broken tools, cursing fits, torches.

I thought I could avoid the drama since my cradle is out of the car AND… I have 4x4s and 3/4” all-thread already and some heavy tools.
I started by drilling holes in the 4by… a pair at 40-1/4” apart and another at 37-5/8”.

next, some big ass sockets and all-thread with washers and nuts.

I threw a strap around the 4by and added two pieces of 4by blocks… cinched it up and then started cinching up the nuts. Looking forward to this being a piece o’ cake.

It was not…. quite.
As I bound down of this (evenly) I was shocked by the resistance. I had the 4by bowed significantly and it was creaking and groaning.

I did NOT want to break the 4by (and it got damned close) so I finally resorted to adding heat.
Only after this did they give up. I now understand the stories I had read, most of them were doing this in the car, on stands.
Tonight I’ll see about the rear pair.

Wow those things are really IN THERE!

I had an acquaintance with a V2 sedan just do this, in the car! He reports that road noise is much more predominant now, but I'm unsure which bushings he installed. I will ask him.

Thanks for the photos, it's really helpful to see the entire assembly out of the car!

Of the two sockets I was using, I found that the one that measured 2-7/8 overall was right for the job; the other socket measured 3-1/4” OD and proved too large. It IS small enough to go through the hole without the bushing in there, but it pinches the rubber against the bore when the bushing is there.

Had a late start to take a shot at the rear bushings on the cradle. Similar setup with the 4by, cranked down on them and pretty much nothing happened.
I’m ready to put the little torch on them but the silly thing is out of gas.
I’ll pick up another bottle tomorrow and try again.

I just used a Diablo Sawzall blade to cut out the center bushing and notch the steel outer sleeve. Then large flat head and hammer to peel it in along the notch and remove.

Did that on an old corvette once. Decided to try smarter over "carcinogenic fumes for fun..." this time around!
