Hello,

Does anyone have a Kong X Port S/C on an untuned engine? Kong himself is the only one I know of. I currently just have a CAI, Soler TB, and ZR1 lid. I'm looking to sneak in as many stock-looking tune free mods as I can. I thought I was done but I read a recent FB post about Kong having his X port on a stock, untuned V3. Does anyone else? Thoughts?

There are boost limits in the factory tuning as well as a few other things at play that would limit any gains without tuning. It is possible to to pull some power out on a dyno pull but real world I would not bother without tuning

I agree best to have tuned, but stock tune is overly rich and is why they say don't need a tune I'd imagine. Also, if you're not seeing 11.5ish lbs of boost depending on where you live, the factory boost limit might be ok. Again, I still think it's always best to retune with any airflow changes.

I actually asked greg about this the other day on FB, but he also mentioned he was running a larger 3.0 inch upper pulley vs the factory 2.5 inch just fyi, so that will decrease boost.

As others have stated, you can only make so much boost before hitting the factory tunes limits.

You could do it, but probably wouldnt see any benefit without a tune because it will likely increase boost and hit that limiter

I just installed a kong ported blower on mine today along with a 2.38 pulley. I do plan on having it tuned asap though. I've already talked with my tuner. I also noticed while I had the lid off that I didn't have a reinforced brick like I paid to have. I was charged with one and still have the stock one on my stock lid.

Lol I have no idea what he was up to there, he claims it ran better than stock with that setup, I guess less heat production as well?

Seemed kinda counter productive to me but maybe he had other plans for the car and was going to tune it

Modify anything for more air,now you're savior is the headers. Don't blow the car up, if you're spending that much, do a tune and be done with it. good luck! LET HER BREATHE!
