Hello all, just found myself a V3 owner as a result of "accidentally" being the winning bid on a 2018 Glacier Metallic Edition on carsandbids.com. I absolutely thought it would go for more than my bid, but I lucked out. Always loved the CTS-V's, but never pulled the trigger on one...until now. Not sure that if I'll like driving an auto or not (currently drive an S4 with a manual) but am looking forward to the extra couple hundred horsepower! Looking forward to learning more from the group about DIY maintenance, mods, tuning options, etc.

Congrats, looks like an amazing car for an amazing price, im assuming the few minor whacks on carfax is why it went "cheap", but based on the pictures the car looks pretty flawless, so probably nothing too wild

They really come to life with a few bolt ons, intake, pulley, little bit of E85 blend in there

Thank you!

That's the one. Just waiting on the seller to get me the docs needed so I can pay him!

Yeah, it seems many were scared off by the Carfax, but I'm not too worried about it, especially at that price.

Any tips on where to source the bits that attach to the front of the front wheelwells would be much appreciated. Also, I can't figure out if they are carbon fiber from the factory or just black.

Sweet ride!!
Welcome to the modness!
Thank you!

Nice deal. Even with the carfax 58K is a killer price. How is this color different from the more common tri coat white? Also what was the point of the paint thickness readings?

EDIT - I looked again and they dont mean much. GM paint is pretty thin. If anything the 4s are factory and the fenders with 6 could be where they blended. My truck read 4ish and 6-10 where it was refinished. Or it could mean nothing. Tough to tell with no sunlight but the bumper looks refinished. That makes sense with the missing arches. Not that any of this matters for this price but I don't buy 3 accidents and no paint work lol.

So from what I gather, the Glacier White has a bit of a greyish/blueish hue to it when compared to tri-coat white. Apparently, it's very similar (maybe even possibly the exact same paint code) as the Ceramic Matrix Gray on the C8 Corvettes. Here's a link to the C8 forum that shows it next to an Arctic White C8 (Ceramic Matrix Gray vs Arctic White - MidEngineCorvetteForum.com).

As for the paint thickness readings, the logic is that if a body panel is re-sprayed, the thickness of that panel will vary significantly to the adjacent panel due to the blending that occurs. Typically, a factory finish has a much thinner layer of primer/paint than work done by a body shop. I didn't request the readings on C&B and, frankly, the way they were measured doesn't really provide much indication as to whether or not there was body work performed. Again, for the price I really didn't care.

I see that. It looks like my white in the pictures but those metallic colors dont capture well on camera with no sunlight. Enjoy your car its a beast! Leave the traction control on as well so you dont add to the carfax!

Will do! I think the color in pics on the dealer's site are a little more true to what it looks like in person. It almost looks like a really faint blue (Used 2018 Cadillac CTS-V #29 OF 115 GLACIER METTALIC EDITION for Sale in Belleville NJ 07109 Premier Automotive Group)

Thanks @chalizmo
Looks like you have the carbon fiber pkg on your V. Can you tell me if the little extensions off the leading edge of the front wheel well are carbon fiber to match the front splitter, or just black?
The parts that go on the leading edge of the front wheel wells, that are on the carbon package cars, that attach to the splitter are black.

Weapon X make some carbon fiber replacements, but you might wait a while as they are having back order issues.
I need to get my RPO codes from the dealer to see my original options. In a recent post, I questioned having a black rear diffuser while everything else is CF. If those deflectors are supposed to be black even with the CF package, then my car must have had everything upgraded except for the rear diffuser because I’ve got CF deflectors.

Oh wow. Interesting! Are you thinking you were optioned without CF package, and a prior owner upgraded the front splitter, diffusers, and rear spoiler - but not the rear diffuser?

yup. I’ve got a black diffuser which indicates it’s either non-CF optioned with everything else upgraded to CF or it was CF optioned and the CF diffuser was damaged and replaced with the cheap non-CF version.
