So was doing an oil change and found the metal part to the timing chain tensioner, I know it’s been found before but do the ls2 one don’t put the stock one back in lesson learned. Took apart the top end of the motor apart then the bottom to get the oil pan off but not the front. My question is can I drive around til winter 2-3 months without it safely?

I don't believe its a good idea. Looks like you have the spring, I am concerned the metal clip may also migrate somewhere, the plastic parts may also cause some issues if they migrate.

Crazy part is that that metal spring didn’t have mark on it just replace it with the timing chain 6k miles ago

Yes, seems you are very fortunate and un-fortunate at the same time.

Now I’m in a real problem put everything back together put a new water pump in it new gaskets, new air filter, which is K&N now the car won’t run right it starts but once you give a guess it falls flat on his face. The knock sensors are going haywire like there’s a miss and running rich. Also I did have the s/c off of it along with the valve covers. Any ideas?

Yea it was running perfect before I started doing this 2k oil change 😂

Check for air leaks and pinched wires.

Do you have HP Tuners?

Yes I have hp tuners haven’t had time the last two days to look at it will prob get to it this weekend I was also thing the camshaft sensor

Not camshaft sensor my buddy just switched that

Check injector harness and any other electrical near the valve covers. Check ground at the back of the heads.

Don’t change air filters without tuning it. I still don’t understand had a green filter but it was huge so bought a shorter k&n filter and car was running rich couldn’t accelerate at all. Put old filter on and perfect again 🤷‍♂️

Was the K&N a wet filter?

It was oiled yes but it was pulling more air then the green filter

But if it was such, perhaps it was the oil vapor causing it? Might want to check the plugs.

By coincidence, I just finished cleaning my K&N, getting ready to apply the spray can K&N oil, any tips?

Ok, figured a little goes a long way.

Runs fine now did an hour of logging on hp tuners ….with the k&n only ran for 20 min started and idled fine for 10 min hit the gas in gear and fell flat on it face wouldn’t go past 2000 rpm’s like limp mode but worse no cels

I don’t think my problem was the oil (even tho it has been a problem with our cars) it was the filter sucking in a lot more air and the air to fuel in the tune was fucked up
