1. Tell that dealer to find the bridge in his fantasyland, & jump the fuck off a it.
2. If you DO NOT have the upgraded trans fluid, flush and refill the system.
3. If you already DO have the upgraded trans fluid, don't flush. You get more problems after flushing because contaminants are blown around. Just filter, oil, gasket, and done.

How do you tell if has upgrade ATF? they want to use AW-1 ATF @ $39 quart. Can I just use Mobil 1 LV ATF HP blue label?

The dealer is using a flush machine and I'm sure charging you a premium per quart for this fluid. Sadly this is not too far off on the price. If they dont want to use the specified fluid that is already a red flag. Me personally if the trans is running ok, I would drop the pan, change the filter and top it off. However this wont touch the fluid in the TC, cooler and some circuits. You probably get about 1/3 new fluid this way? Draining and refilling the trans a few times over a short period of time would get a little more fresh fluid in there too.

What I have also done on other cars is use the trans pump to do a flush. Pretty much you disconnect a cooler hose, the outlet side goes into a bucket and the inlet hose gets a funnel jammed in it that stays full of fresh ATF. Start the car. When you start to see fresh fluid come out of the other end you are done. Then check the level in the trans to be sure. This ensures you get all new fluid but is gentler than a pressurized flush machine that may dislodge junk in your trans.

Dump the pan, change the filter and refill. No matter what. I've done on dozens of my own personal vehicles at all levels of mileage, 300k mile trucks, 400k mile trucks, and 40k mile cars. Always and routinely change the fluid. I changed my Wagon at 130k after never being serviced by the first owner. Shifts better, cleaner and more firm. No longer slam-bangs gears. I'll probably dump/flush it again in 10k miles.
