2018 ctsv traction control not working.
Still under warranty.
Dealer and Cadillac customer service refuse to help.
Under moderate to hard acceleration, rear wheels spin.
Happens in all drive modes.
Traction control IS turned on.
Seems to be right wheel only.
Shouldn't positraction kick in?
Anyone else have this problem?

Welcome! Have you driven another V3? How do you know the TC "isn't working?" Have you checked the tires?

I test drove a V3 once and it spun and nearly went sideways every time I used more than 1/4 throttle. It was nearly undrivable. When returning, I peeked at the rear tires and it had some shitty half bald nittos that I don't even think were Z rated. Honestly I'm glad I looked at another V3 because that was my first one and I nearly crossed the car off my list.

You have to have reasonable expectations. This is a 640hp RWD car with 295 tires out back. In first and some of second you need to feather the gas or you will just spin. In fact, factory launch control doesnt even give WOT until well into second gear. Colder weather, cold tires, and damp surfaces will make it even more challenging. As a rule, I dont ever floor it unless I'm in 3rd or higher gear, maybe feather it out in 2nd. 1st is a no-no if my wife or kid is with me. The traction control on these cars feels a little different than other GM or Fords I've had. Instead of just shutting down the throttle and falling on your face, you can feel the ass end get a bit squirmy while the car powers thru it with a combination of the eLSD and rear brakes. My car came with Michelin PSSs that were a little more than half worn up front and nearly to the wear bars in the back. I put new PS4s all around and traction did improve significantly. Either way its a summer tire so less than 50-60F ambient and the tires suck until they're warmed up.

Check your tires or maybe try another dealer. When I drove a Boss 302, GTOs, and Corvettes the dealers had special techs for the fast cars. Ford has SVT techs and GM had something too. They will ride with you or even drive your car with you in the passenger seat to see what's going on. That really helped me diagnose a few issues. You could ask about that. Or next time buy AWD lol?

OK, not my first rodeo.
In automotive business my entire life, mostly tires.
Owned, raced and driven GTO's, Chevelles, and Corvettes.
This car is squirrelly. Traction control is definitely NOT working.
Even with old fashioned Posi traction car should accelerate straightly. Not slide sideways into left lane.
This is arising as a problem because this is wife's car and she put up with it since day one.
As a careful and considerate husband, I didn't drive it TOO aggressively when she let me drive.
After I noticed the problem, I told wife to take it to local dealer.
Wife took it to dealer who at first couldn't find anything wrong but DID find over $1,000 worth of unrelated services they wanted to sell her.
Successive trips finally got them to see the problem but their suggestions to align the front end, change the oil, replace the rear tires, didn't address the problem again.
Phone calls and Emails to Cadillac Customer Service resulted in a call from one of their reps who listened politely, told me he would have to contact others within GM and would get back to me in a few days.
Days, weeks, months have gone by, no responses. Emails unanswered, phone messages not returned. Even Emails to a VP at GM ignored.
If my C8 acted like this, I'd sell it!
Losing faith in the "General"!

Try another dealer? My cars rear end got squirrely as well on heavy throttle before an alignment. If you knew the name GM uses for the drivability guy for the performance cars that would help. Perhaps Caddy dealers dont even have them due to only Vs being sporty? I know Chevy has them. I say this because diagnosing these types of issues were extremely hard for me with both Ford and GM, but once they service advisor hooked me up with someone who knew, we had the problem figured out in one quick joint test drive.

On my Boss 302 I was getting locked out of gear at redline... haha no normal tech is gonna drive it like that without you there. I had to drive it with the SVT guy and show him that I couldnt catch 3rd even granny shifting. One test drive later I had a whole new clutch assembly ordered. Anyways good luck.

Alignment was done at dealership during second visit and was supposedly corrected, but it made no difference.
Took car to a tire store who had dealer fax a copy of the alignment specs before and after. they said it was OK!

Final decision by dealer after Detroit intervention is that traction control working as designed, it takes a few seconds to kick in .
Wife has given up. Says she will live with it!
