I might be late to the V performance upgrade party but I gotta tell ya this is the best "hot rod" I've ever owned in all of my years of muscle car ownership, (not that I had a TON of them over the past 40 years). I had an absolute blast this past summer and the car exceeded my expectations running a best ET @ 10.86 and multiple 129mph 1/4 mile laps, wheels up too! This is with SBE, stock cam, stock injectors, shifting at 6,100 rpm with full stock interior.. blows my mind! I have gotten a ton of positive comments on the car too, what it's all about right?

So of course I'm excited to embark on the next round of "mods" as they say, and I'm anxious to start wrenching after Xmas. I don't want to rush into this because it's a looonng and cold winter where I come from LOL, and if I get it done too soon the anticipation would drive me nuts!

Can you guess what I'm doing next?? 🤷‍♂️:ROFLMAO:

Balancer, lower pulley, ported stock heads not shown because a) I don't have them just yet b) I haven't disassembled the engine yet either. ;)

Takes me back to when I was 18 years old, when I purchased my very first aftermarket aluminum SBC intake and Holley 650 DP and other parts, proudly on display on my bedroom dresser waiting for spring to install, (back then, dad didn't have a heated garage to work in)

That’s an exciting pile of parts . Who are you getting to port the heads and is that a 2.0 or 2.5 cam ? Looking forward to seeing what you can do with it next summer .

Into the rabbit hole you go! I've never tracked my car before or after my similar mods, but I can echo your sentiment about this platform! Enjoy the build, it was the best 3 weekends of my summer when I embarked on tearing into a perfectly running engine. That first crank after I finished was the most anxious I've ever felt in my life.....

Well I'm not the first, but I've learned a ton and tried to be methodical with the upgrades. The plan is to ship the heads to WCCH, the cam is 2.5. Me too, thanks!

Man you HAVE to run it down the track, it's waaay too much fun and the REAL "dyno". I am already anticipating the "first" crank with fear and trepidation haha.

You should text me if your looking for wcch 2.5 heads, I could swap you heads if that's the plan you are going for, I'm demoding mine and building my volvo to be a race car. Axles, mencers, kongs already spoken for, I just had wcch redo my lsa heads (2.5) last fall and they have only seen Miles of Mayhem for mileage. Could save you shipping and border fees.

I'm also removing my custom ice tank as well once the kong blower goes.

When my wife points and says sternly "go to your room!" I never argue with her LOL. It's not the fanciest, largest or best equipped but it is the nicest "room" I have ever had. Thanks RD!
