TH 400 conversion

There’s a you tuber named Stangkiller who put a 2 speed power glide into his C7 LT4 ZR1 Vette. Car is strip and half mile only. Sure it can be done…maybe contact him?

Yes it can be done. Not something Id recommend unless the car is 1/8-1/4 focused with 4 digit power though

I plan to just take it out for "FUN" lol 8l90 to build plus torque converter 6-8k plus if it goes out again will be another amount down the drain ...th 400 is cheaper to build and it holds more power... just debating on the drivability and high rpms

Doing a TH400 isn’t something you do to save money. A TH400 built with the right parts, mounting, custom driveshaft, 9” IRS to hold power and get you a reasonable gear ratio etc.

If its not an 8 second car this is prob not your ideal route. This is beyond 6-8K by far more like 25K in total.

There you have it. What is your intention with the car? You do realize that this conversion would render your “luxury “ car into a semi race car…curious about the intent.

What about a 4L80E?
You get the TH400 strength, plus a lock-up converter & overdrive.

I bought the car so I can enjoy and tear it up...at the moment my setup is nitrous, with port injection ,pulleys and long tubes nothing fancy...but just take out on the weekend and roll race it.

There is no reason an 8L90 wont hold up when tuned properly. A TH400 isnt going to be a good roll setup.
