Tell me I should wait...

So I found this '10 but it is auto and doesn't have Recaros. So I was going to pass right on by until I saw the odometer. It has 7,000 original miles and now I'm really struggling to not pull the trigger. Im also afraid I will regret not getting the Recaros. I could deal with the auto for the mileage but man this seems almost too good to pass up. It has no accidents, clean title, and they want 44K. Please someone else buy it so I don't jump on it and regret it.

Even with the super low mileage, the price seems a little bit high...but I'm reminded everyday that I'm way outta touch with the market.
First, request service records. Get the VIN and go to any GM dealer service department and ask them to run a printout of what's been done.
Every trip to a Dealership will be recorded. It won't tell you anything about work outside the dealer system. Before committing, run a CarFax and also GOOGLE the VIN... sometimes there are surprises, just sayin'. Opportunities for this low mileage are rare, but if you want a stick now, how much regret will you have?
Pass! you will regret not having the MT let alone the recaros. High(er) mileage V's are just as good as low mileage V's. Most of the time they have been taken care of considering most are over 10 years old.

Buy it. Drive it. But take care of it. Don't drive it a lot. Keep the miles down. Keep looking for the M6 you want (I highly recommend you opt for only 2 doors if going for the manual). When you find one, odds are good it'll have substantially more miles and be selling for less even if newer. Sell this one and use the proceeds to buy the manual.

Surly approves this plan.
I appreciate the perspectives. The low mileage is so tempting but I think waiting is the right call. I considered the buy and sell route but the trip to get it or shipping plus paying state taxes and registration twice probably makes that cost prohibitive.

The Recaros are cool but not a deal breaker. Only time I wished I had Recaros was when I got to fly around COTA and needed the side bolster for all the high G turns.

Wait for the manual, but don't waste your time with anything less that 4 doors.....😉

I had to buy the same car twice because I made the mistake of thinking I'd be ok an auto. I personally had way more fun ringing out a 160hp pickup with a stick than I ever did with my auto V.

It really depends what you're going to do with that specific car, because it has such low miles. That's the kind of car that doesn't really make sense to buy unless you plan on making it a garage queen in hopes one day it'll be worth a ton. If you're looking for a track toy, the high price/low mileage formula is never the move especially if you plan on modding it.

For me, if I'm looking for something I'm going to track I'm looking in the 50-90K mi range because I'm going to upgrade/replace half the shit on it anyway with better aftermarket parts. But something like that at this stage is garage queen/collector status, in my opinion. Doesn't make sense to track an expensive car like that with low miles when you could just buy a higher mileage one for less to beat the crap out of. And if you're not going to track/autox it, you don't need the Recaros

The plan is to DD this car. I've had used beater cars my whole life and I'm ready for a nice car. Lightly modded, reliable DD that I can drive for 5 or 6 years if I love it. I know I don't "need" the Recaros but...
And if you're not going to track/autox it, you don't need the Recaros
Definitely found that statement also holds true when said the other way (if you are tracking, you do need them). One weekend around VIR bracing myself against the door and the transmission hump, pushing the dead pedal so hard I think I dented it into the firewall, just to keep my ass somewhat planted. Bought Recaros shortly after.

And I'd personally hold out for a manual, but I'm biased.
It makes some sense as a daily because in a few years it will STILL BE a low mileage car. But I have no idea what the market for these cars will do in that time. For some reason (okay, for all the current political and EV stuff going on) I feel like these cars may well be MUCH more expensive, soon... If they aren't outlawed.
the price isnt out of line

Not to hijack the thread but were you able to get the full functionally of the cooled seats?

Not yet...but haven't tried. Can't find the center stack with butt-cooling buttons and modules at a price that I can stomach.
OP, have you sat in a V with Recaros or non-Recaro?
If not, find an owner in your area that will let you sit in their car.

Definitely needs to come see me, then. Currently have Recaro driver, base passenger! One stop shopping.

For 44k you will be able to find a low-ish mileage one with a manual trans and recaros though. The low number of miles isn't going to replace the third pedal, but I'm likely biased.
