I recently ordered a pair of rear tires and happened to notice a very interesting note in the description for most of the common summer tires, including the Pilot Sport 4S's. I live in PA, and the temperatures drop below 20 at some point most winters.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle. Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Does this mean when we have very cold nights I need to put the car on jack stands and bring the wheels/tires inside?! For fucks sake...

It's a well known issue. The tradeoff is either settle for reduced summer performance with all season tires or have a set of summer perfoirmance tires and a set of winter tires. I have two sets of tires and wheels (and rear drag radials on two more wheels). It's the price you pay to play.

Don't drive in 20 degree weather with summertires, you will get f'd up.
I'm not trying to drive on them, just didn't want to have to store them inside because a second set of wheels and tires isn't in the budget this year

Sorry that was my attempt at humor. But we all understand the budget issue. What many of us do is tell our wives we are getting 'maintenance '. Haha
Oh believe me I know most of the tricks hiding things from the wifey lol. All of my friends kindly and quietly receive parts packages with my name on them, and I've mastered the split dispersement of my direct deposit into my secret "play" checking account haha. And paying my buddies in cash to order me parts online with their cards 😂

Well, it appears you are a master of deception. If my wife only knew that the 50k maintenance is worth about 250 hp.lol

get a used set, tell her they came with the car
we orchestrated a motorcycle and car im sure you can figure out a set of wheels lol
I'm not sure you fully understand how much buying this car strained my marriage in the first place. If you were there when I told her I paid $1,600 for the Texas Speed headers and X-pipe you would've sworn she just found out that I porked her 15 y/o sister or something (just an analogy, not a fact, you pervs)

I am good too! My wife bought and paid for her V. Every time I upgrade it, I tell her it will sound better. It works:). This weekend it gets torn down again for the winter build...to make it sound better of course. Tuner said it should get over 700hp with all the upgrades. 🤞

After seeing how my 4s's did at the track, they can f right off and crack all they want in the cold. I will then film unending smoking burn outs until they ignite or explode. I will then replace them with a real tire
