There has been a huge amount of Vs stolen in Houston in the last 6-8 months. Nobody's car is safe honestly. I just moved to a new apt that has a private parking garage but i know all it takes is somebody to walk in past the gate and drive out with my car.

What can be done to prevent theft in our cars? Killswitch? What about tracking options?

killswitch doesn't do anything because most thefts are tow trucks.... your best bet is multiple tracking devices
I told my wife yesterday that tow truck are also steeling V's. Now she's afraid to take her eyes off it when she's out. Definitely getting a tracking device.
Most of the thefts I've heard of are them stealing the FOB signal with a replicator and starting the car and driving off.

yeah there was some vids posted earlier in the year that happened here in houston, where it showed the guy on camera walking up to the V and just starting it with his phone working as the fob.

i try to keep mine in the garage as much as possible, but all it takes is one sec according to the vids.

Pretty much the same as here. If you don't have a private garage it is tough to have nice things.
I'm lucky, I live in a small neighborhood right off the main strip through central CT. I also have some nosy neighbors, so I'm protected in that way as well.

We're out of the way enough to not be in an area where strangers are constantly driving by and scoping things out, I have neighbors that have no issue calling police (past history being cited), and we have police that are quite overzealous about patrols in some respects.

My neighbor’s an asshole, he would probably love it if my car got stolen.

My folks side of town is not the greatest. On his 2012 CTS I had a Revelco kill switch installed. Ravelco Anti Theft Device
It cost $500 bucks to have it installed and in the 4 years that it's been on the car it hasn't given him any issues.

It won't defeat a tow truck, you will lose your remote startup capabilities and it makes valet parking quite interesting but it will defeat the key fob signal replicator. Ultimately, I think a layered security approach would be the best practice. A good tracker and a kill switch and since this is Texas you might at well add a hand gun to the mix.

I saw a video last week that looked like 3 Hispanic males pushing one down the street, either to keep from starting it up in the driveway or pushing it to a tow vehicle because they couldn't get it started.

So you’re saying there is a design flaw necessitating theft? I buy it
