Wish I saw the write up here first on spring compressors. I followed a video about replacing the UCA and LCA bushings on our V2's. Seemed legit and straightforward. They removed the entire strut assembly and used a spring compressor. My issue is the spring compressor will only fit on the upper part of the spring and I can't compress it enough to remove it. Bought the Maddox MacPherson compressor kit from Harbor Freight. What are my options? Do we have to use a different type of compressor?

I used a pair of the acme threaded manual ones and was able to compress it enough to replace both struts up front. The key though is to get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08X6NXYMT A normal socket won't fit in there. With this socket I did not have to compress the springs much to get them off and on again.
