Hi all,
Just acquired a heavily modded 11 coupe m6. Surprisingly, the shifter is stock (loose, long throws ). Does anyone know of a good stiff short throw replacement that is not too difficult to swap out ? I’m decently handy, but not an expert, and I don’t feel like having a shop do it. Thank you in advance. -Mike

Core shifter for the win. Slightly notchy but solid engagement.

The OE unit has a rubbery/isolated/unfettered feel when you push the lever from one gear to the next. The Core needs a decidedly more forceful input from you to get from gear to gear.....you feel the snugness and hear the metallic click as you leave one gate and enter the next. It's a positive physical and audible reinforcement of what you're doing, controlling and feeling each shift. I absolutely love the lack of the Cadillac feel in this department.

Oh yes , that is what I’m looking for. Thank you for the detailed explanation sir. Reminds me of the c5 z06 I had a few years ago. Solid, stiff, positive shifts. The stock shifter feels like I’m shifting a Camry. It’s odd because the last owner spent a lot of coin on the performance mods, but left the shifter in the shadows

Installed my Core shifter two weeks ago and wondered how I drove the car for 10 years with the stock shifter. Love the precise gate feel an I am even shifting smoother. Easy 3 hour installation for me.

I love my Creative Steel shifter. Had it for 4yrs+. It does allow you some height adjustment which I like because I wanted it to fit me. Quality product as well. 100% worth the look before you buy.
