Picked up my second V about 6 months ago. Been cruising the forum and learning a few things. Sold my V2 in 2018 and regretted it the next morning when I went to go to work on a sunny day. Only car I regret selling. Picked up a 2018 V3 back in May and everything is right with the world.
Current rig is stock and will likely stay mostly that way, but it’s loaded with carbon fiber, Recaros, and PDR.
Here she is at the feeding hole. We go there a lot. When I took this pic the dude from the camper ran up on me asking if it was a Blackwing. When I told him no, he walked off disappointed.

Thanks. I really kind of backed into this rig. Spent nearly a year looking. I’m gonna share too much on how I found this rig. You kids decide what is too much. I’d been cruising a few sites to include this one, which is why I’ve been a member for over a year. So at about 3 AM I woke in need to pay the water bill but decided to sit down and being my phone to pay that bill. Found her on a carmax site from Texas. Paid the shipment price right there. Car showed up in 10 days. I showed up at the dealer before my salesman was there, but put eyes on her before a test drive…. As soon as I looked at it, I said, “hey sweetheart, you’re coming home with me!”
Honorable mention to X96535. He and some other dudes put me on this kinda car a bunch of years ago. I bought some 5 inch billy boats from P for my V2.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the knowledge already. Knowing the satin steel metallic color means a lot. I do love it though. I’d didn’t think I’d be able to get an 18. I read about the. Random things that plagued the 16-17 models. And it really hurt my brain. But to find this and an 18 color made me very happy. Now to be clear, I had to eat some shit because I spent a bit more money than I told my wife I would. I was on a $65k budget but I spent….. more.

Sorry to be delayed in answering. It’s painted. Can’t swear that’s factory, but seen a few others that way. I got it 3 years old with 43k miles.

beautiful color by the way. my V3 is also in satin steel metallic. there’s a black chrome option for the grill surround that’s OEM. i would avoid painting the grills from experience on my last V. you get a lot of rock chips
