Also curious.
And wondering about 60' times on prepped vs unprepped tracks
With M&H drag radials best prepped track 60' was 1.49 hooking. 60' on the same radials at the same track, unprepped, was 1.77 spinning.

Agreed there’s a lot of variable at play in order to scientifically answer this. But prepped track vs unprepped definitely makes a difference in traction. Trying to translate that to the street is kind of hard. Concrete? Asphalt? How much power the car makes etc all play a big factor.

And suspension requirements, deffer greatly between the two. . . .

Definitely agree duck. Setting a car up on the street vs the track is something I think most people assume is the same.

I totally understand there are so many dynamics at play to give good answers on this question. I was just giving consideration of what 1/4 mile time slip I may be able to put down at a proper track vs my little personal testing drag strip in Mexico. Best 60' on the street with DR's is a 1.9 sec so far, so if a 1.5 60' at the track is achievable it's my understanding that every tenth of a second in the 60' that is improved results in about 1.5x less of a tenth at the finish line? Does this sound right?

Pretty much... One tenth saved on the 60ft is two tenths gained on the other end

I would kill for that time. Unprepped track my best 60' with drag radials is 1.95. I'm consistently around 2.0x.
Gotta get there on a night when they prep.
I checked my logbook before I had DR's and on an unprepped track with stock 19' tires I was able to 60' 1.9xx ish albeit spinning, so your results sound about right.

And yes, a race-day prepped track is best for optimal 60' and wheel-pulling ;)

And then there are environmental issues. I made a few runs at a drag with a limited number of cars. All on slicks or drag radials. Great prep that was refreshed during the day. However, it was 91 degrees. At that temp even a prepped track can be slippery. Car had a great back half, but the 60s sucked.

It's been my goal to run 10's on unprepped street surface, even with 650 whp best I have got has been 11.65 @ 126.1 mph. Maybe one day when its cooler and a proper burnout it's possible. But really I'd like to do it without the burnout as if it was a real life stop light race.
