Pulley question

956 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Chokeu
I have heard different opinions on this topic. I am thinking of installing a 2.45” Griptec pulley and 10 bolt hub, I heard you need to also get a 100mm idler pulley while some say you don’t? I take it the idler pulley would get a tighter belt wrap? If that’s the case does anyone know what size belt you’d need to run the 2.45” upper, stock lower and 100mm idler?

I would go to a larger idler with anything smaller then a 2.55

Yeah use the 100mm idler, keeps the tensioner where it was intended to be from the factory. Less chance of belt slippage more importantly.

You can find companies that sell kits that will come with the pulley, hub, idler, belt and an isolator. It's probably not a bad idea to do all of them together.
Don't forget Injectors. A must when changing pulleys, esp to a 2.45.

We would be one of those including injectors…

I already have 2.45" pulley, FIC 1200cc injectors on the way as well as DSX Tuning Flex fuel kit. I think i'm going to get the 100mm idler too.
