Power Steering Reservoir Removal

1021 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Lol
The return hose barb on the reservoir snapped off during a power steering flush. Figured it would.

I have a new reservoir en route and ran into a small problem. The inboard 13mm bolt of the two, which secure the reservoir to the steering pump, is bumping against the head where it meets the valve cover.

I was trying to avoid removing the pump, but does the power steering pump need to come out to facilitate this?

Got it off. Disregard.
I know this is an old thread but how did you end up getting that bolt out? I'm running into the same issue

I ended up loosening the three bolts of the bracket the power steering pump was mounted to, which mounts the pump to the block. Just enough to be able to get a tool on that bolt.
