Trying to decide whether or not to install new 2650 or just port polish and install ZL1 Lid.
What are your HP goals?Trying to decide whether or not to install new 2650 or just port polish and install ZL1 Lid.
I know people have ported the 2650, but honestly I doubt there is much to gain other than a lighter wallet. It's already a very efficient blower. I'd skip the porting and buy the matching Kong lid / brick first.Buy a 2650, then have it ported.
Stock heads. LSA. Test pipes E85. ZL intercooler pump 160T stat. Grip tech pulley. Catch can is current setup. 664 on Dyno. Looking at next step.Stock heads? LSA.
Aftermarket heads or big cubes? 2650

Yeah, port the 1.9 and pulley up. You'll see 16+ psi and need to improve cooling anyways.Stock heads. LSA. Test pipes E85. ZL intercooler pump 160T stat. Grip tech pulley. Catch can is current setup. 664 on Dyno. Looking at next step.
got SS long tube headers then looking at blower upgrades. Looking for low 700’s on dyno.
With heads and blower, you'd be there. For what it’s worth I made 726/693 on E with stock heads, stock throttle body, and an unported supercharger on only 13 psi. I’m in the same boat as you. I want to knock on 800’s door and trying to figure out the best way to do it. Mods are: 5in intake, GP tuning stage 3 cam, 2.4/8.6 pulley, 2in headers, ID1300 with aux pump, HE with meziere pump, and all the other necessary supporting mods.
Yeah I just feel like my best bet is to go 2650 and call it a day. I feel like it wouldn’t be wise to put money into a max effort 1.9 setup knowing that the 2650 will always be superior. With heads and blower, you'd be there.
I say that because I have lots of what you have but 4.5 on 90mm TB. But I have heads and blower with less aggressive (GP 2) cam. When I get the hand me down bigger TB, from someone moving up to the 2650, I should go to 750-760 just on gas and higher on 40% E blend.
If you aren't going bigger than 376...wouldn't it make more sense to maximize it.Yeah I just feel like my best bet is to go 2650 and call it a day. I feel like it wouldn’t be wise to put money into a max effort 1.9 setup knowing that the 2650 will always be superior.
That’s what I’m reading as well, but I’ve also seen a few ZR1’s with stock cubes making crazy power with the 2650. I don’t want to set any new records, but I guess my thought is why spend X on a 1.9L to still know that the 2650 is better? A set of heads with a 2650 and 103 TB will out perform the same setup with a 1.9 and still have a higher ceiling. I guess I’m just trying to talk myself into a 2650 lolIf you aren't going bigger than 376...wouldn't it make more sense to maximize it.
Seems like I'm reading guys having more success with the 2650 with 400 or bigger.
I dunno... my 400" 2650 is an absolute riot to drive.funnest cars to drive have the 1.7 and stockish cubes imo. such a proven combo that is dead reliable if setup correct.
