Picking up my 22 Ct5-v Blackwing in a few hours

I got extemely lucky and was able to buy a CT5 Blackwing 6spd for MSRP. Never owned a Cadillac or any American car for that matter since my very first, a 65’ Mustang.

I was aware of the Cadillac V cars but never really considered one, I have had M3, M5, M6 and an Audi S8 previously and am a fan of super performance Sedans. Came across one of the reviews for the new Blackwings and became obsessed and went down the rabbit hole watching every piece of content available. I have never seen reviewers so consistently gush about how dialed in a car is, and how fun it is to drive.

Made the decision to order one a few months ago, and was nervous that I wasn’t actually ever going to ever get it. (Huge order backlog and feet fee allocations) Dealer had a cancellation and I happened to be the top of his pile of unfulfilled orders, and I got lucky and bought the car. Picking It up a few hours and I can’t wait!😃😃😃

I know there are tons of performance mods for CTS V3s but I have read that because of the way the computer is always connected to the Cadillac cloud it is extremely difficult to mod CT5 Blackwings. Super low production volume doesn’t help either. Does anyone know of any performance mods available or in development for this car. I know it doesn’t need it, but aI always like my car to be a little faster then the next guys, it is a sickness🤪

Welcome! More details on car? We'd love to see pics when you get it.

It was another customers order Rift Metallic, Carbon ceramic breaks, Upgraded seats light gray and black with suede backs. Bronze rims, Bronze Calipers. They were already in the process of ceramic coating it when I bought it, (I did have to pay for that over MSRP) and I snapped a couple pics when I bought it. Will post more when I get the car at 10.

I’d guess that bolt-ons will be plentiful, for all the technology that the car has it’s still a GM V8. Bigger power modifications may take a moment to come to the market but I’m counting down until I see one making 1000+ WHP.
Very nice. The white with bronze wheels is a good look. Wish the carbon wasn't so heavily restricted on these cars.

I had carbon package 1 ordered on my build, but the dealer told me that GM is making none of the orders that have the carbon package. I had wanted shadow metallic, but when it got discontinued for 23 I ordered Black. I probably would have taken any build the dealer offered me and wrapped it if I didn’t like the color. I actually really like the build I got, the paint looks different and more interesting IRL it looks straight white in images, and ai didn’t love the bronze wheels in images I saw, but really like the way they looked on the car. The rims on the ct5 Blackwing are one of the coolest stock wheel design I have seen. 1 more hour and she’s mine😁

I think the challenge is on tuning and will probably require a piggyback, which I don’t think exists yet. I saw a video where they put in a ported blower and got pretty big gains, using the stock tune. I have had a lot of turbo cars where the tune changes boost, but never a SC car where you have to make mechanical changes to get more boost.

Congrats and enjoy! I hate that these cars are so heavily marked up.
Congrats! I am excited as well, for some reason... even as a vicarious experience, taking delivery on a new performance car is thrilling!
Congrats! Beautiful, except that C pillar.

RPM has a video on one they did. The problem is tuning as no one has cracked the global 2 platform yet. Im sure like all software it will happen eventually. But you may have to wait a bit. I belive they did a ported blower and some other basic mods and they auto correction kept the AFRs pretty safe and they saw decent gains. Check the video to confirm that though.

Congrats on the rad car man! Enjoy it!
Nice wheel color. Its just a beefed up LT4 so I'm sure some breathing mods will benefit you even before someone cracks the ECU for tuning.
awesome! Lucky pick up man Im jealous. I 100% would have bought a 6speed manual at MSRP in a heartbeat. I would prefer the blue color but that white is beautiful too.

Here are some more exterior pics in dealer lighting, I will take some others outside later. I LOVE the car in the very limited time in it I have had. Clutch is perfect, shifter feels just heavy enough and notches nicely into gear, steering feel is great, and that motor😃😃😃. It is torture trying to obey the break in and I need to go for some long drives to eat up the 500 miles so I can really experience it. The only thing I don’t love about the car is the seat color the guy who ordered it choose, it has suede back cool gray with black upgrades sport seats. I would much rather have the straight black stock seats. Need to find someone who will trade me is 2900 option but just not to my taste.

Will post more when I actually get a chance to drive more over the weekend. I feel really lucky to have gotten the car.

Nice. Very nice.
Not surprised it would be in Beverly Hills.
Can't wait until you've put the 500 miles on it.
I don’t like in Beverly Hills was just the dealer I was advised gets the most allocations in SoCal

Keep an eye Tapout tuning and Burger, they are working together to use the JB4 on the black wings. The CT4-BW JB4 is about ready to ship. JB4 for 2021+ Cadillac CT4, CT5, Turbo Including V & Blackwing (BETA)
Loving the wheels. Also, the car is definitely better looking than when they first announced it. It is subtle but I guess the design has grown on me.
Looks great! The wheels are spectacular but just thinking about keeping all those different creases and folds in the rim design clean of brake dust makes me twitch.
