If you were talking streetcar with occasional light track use you’re fine with the factory system. If however you aspire to significant HPDE or time trial use then factory is insufficient. Mine is 100% track use and I am running 2 HX’s in series to keep temps down.

What level of power are you making? Any cooling system mods or airflow mods to the front of the car?
LSX427-Mag2650, long build thread around here somewhere. Not built yet. (see sig line)
Realistically 1000~1100 is reachable.
I'm going with a gigantic Fluidyne HX which is all below the bumper. Above bumper area is open and available. EOS CF lower lip
Stock radiator.
With the iron block I have to be mindful of radiator BTU capacity and getting rid of the LtL factory cooler should help... but only if I keep the oil cooler(s) out of the radiator's stream(!)
Maybe in a brake duct

My car will be around 700rwhp when I'm done.
I mostly want the oil cooler for 2 reasons. To get rid of some tubing/ clean up engine bay a bit make some room, and to reduce oil temps so my oil catch can will actually work. I already have the engine out so this is the time to do it. I will be adding a trans cooler at the same time.

You know, considering the huge bulk of the factory cooler, big ol brick on the side of the pan that it is… The headers are built to clear that big chunk; once you remove that and swap
on the tiny IR adapter, there’s just no way it is going to be anywhere near the adapter, is what I’m thinking

Even without the stock cooler it's still a tight fit with lines properly secured clearing the headers.

I am attaching a few images for your consideration as to location of cooler after you figure out your header fitment/adaptor question. Personally I don't imagine you will have an issue, I am running BB 1.75" headers if it helps.

Did you build these brackets to hold the cooler like this? I like that set up. How does it work during idle ?

Also I didn't think about it till now but I won't have a crash bar to mount the coolers to. Because I have that big extreme racing interchiller that replaces the crash bar completely.

And I also have dual Vader hx kit so I'm not sure how I'm going to mount these things.

So what happens in the event of a crash with no crash bar. Just curious with all the crazy drivers out on the road.
