Oil Change Message

So the change oil soon message popped up yesterday on my '16 V3. Dealer did a "gold Dexos oil change" August 24, 2021. I have put only 1200 miles on the car since then. Is there any way possible that this oil actually needs to be changed? I certainly don't want to cheap out if it might really need changing, but after barely driving it over 11 months?

Do you know what the oil life % remaining was at the last oil change? It's very possible the dealer technician forgot to reset the oil change indicator last time. Now, if those 1200 miles were at the track it's very possible.
Just checked and the repair order said oil life was 5% then and it says 5% now. Wondering if I should just do it myself (now that the car is outside of the factory-provided ones) so that I know what is there and can reset the oil life. If I do it myself; now trying to decide on 5W30 or 0W40

Once it gets close to 12 months you will get the message regardless of miles. The oil change program rpm-time-temp formula used to allow greater then 12 months but some don't check oil level as required causing failures.
not sure if its same in yours but ours with just key on if u bring up the oil life percentage and then go zero to full throttle 3 times in a row it resets it
Look at the oil posts on here. I use penzzoil Ultra 5w-30
Change your oil yearly regardless of mileage.

$80k car and you're going to get cheap on me?

Don't get cheap on me, Dodgson...
