Hey family
Just wondering what some of y’all use to clean and polish oem wheels. Rims are pretty decent but one of the rims has a haze tint too it! I noticed they are starting to get some residue on them from the dreaded shock leakage. Just want some ideas of cleaning and polishing! I love the oem rims and want to rock them for as long as I can

Good luck, but the GM coating does not take well to correction. I remember a forum member here that is also a detailer that couldn't get any improvement on removing scratches witha wool wheel and heavy compound.

Recoat them with PVD, powdercoat, or buy new ones seem to be the only options.

Thanks blown for response. Yeah that’s what hat it seems like is my only option. Guess I will try and source another oem set and rock them in summertime only and use these for winter use Lmaoooooo

Yes, thats a damn shame too. I remember trying everything possible on not only the OEMs, but other wheels as well. Not sure why wheels don‘t shine worth a darn, but they never seem to 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mine get covered in a layer of brake dust after every outing......they're clean and shiny for all of 5 minutes. Just today while cruising along at 80mph on a deserted 5 lane highway, a battleship grey 911S pulled alongside, looked over and laughed before punching it. Smug asshole I thought to myself. I waiting a second, grabbed fourth and ripped by him in no time. I jumped on the binders so he could catch up, and when he did, I pointed and laughed at him! No need to repeat. Of course, when I pulled into my garage all I saw was dirty wheels again....maybe tomorrow it'll get washed.

It's pretty rare to find a challenger on the roads and I'll only engage when there's no one around, but it's soooooo satisfying! This car's setup builds power so linearly, I can only imagine what proper heads and a ported blower would add to the combo. :)
