on my transmission mount. It seems like there is quite a bit but not enough that it is dripping anywhere. I rub it on my fingers and it feels like oil but doesn't quite smell like engine oil. I am wondering if it is common for tailshaft seal to go bad on these transmissions or if there is another possible culprit here? I had the driveshaft replaced by GM under warranty in November. The shaft itself doesn't seem to have fluid but I didn't get a great chance to look at it. I just noticed my transmount was pretty soaked in whatever this fluid is.

Any ideas? I am tired of the dealership so if this is something myself or my tech can do I would prefer to DIY.

Edit: my shop said it seems to be on the crossmember also. Im wondering if this could be that bolt issue I read about in the past on here. I forgot if that bolt was inside the driveshaft or somewhere else. Anyone know if this could be it?

If it's reddish then it's transmission fluid. And you're probably correct.

I've tried to search for that thread on the bolt, I can't find it at all. Any ideas?
