New wheel arrived a couple days ago and I’ve been putting it together the last couple days when I’ve had time. I’m not a Carbon fiber fan so I just went with leather and Alcantara. I‘ll get the shifters later on. I’m just about done, but was wondering where I should wire the display to? Anyone have any idea? There’s plenty of power under there obviously, just need to know which one to strip for power?
There’s also a OBD unit that came with it, but I’m not familiar with what exactly it’s for, or how to use it. I’d assume it’ll connect to the wheel once I get it plugged in and power to the wheel. Any ideas guys?

Just heads up on the paddle shifters. Mine were a bit too long and the left one kept catching on the turn signal stick, I ended up taking them off, and putting stock ones back in, they are also like 5x havier, and started to pop out due to worn out plastic tabs that hold them in. This took like 6 months or so. Hope you have better luck
I did not get shift light on mine, but tracking what you said. It plugs into OBD2 port. I believe there are couple videos online about it.

That looks great!

Where did you get it?

I'm not a big carbon fiber fan either. Too much and it can get gaudy to me...

I want to get one similar only Leather and Leather. Thinking about perforated on the sides and smooth on the top and bottom with a red stripe or black stripe (Not sure I even want a stripe yet). I'm not going to do the display though.

I actually got paddle shifters from a VW Golf and attached them to my stock buttons and have had no issues. Best $17 I ever spent! Got them from Ebay.

That looks a lot shorter ! I like 🤙
They "lock in" the same way ? What year Golf ? I might have to look into it.
Sorry for the thread jack Kenny!!

You have to attach them to the buttons. I used 3M 4747 to bond them to the stock buttons. You could also use a really good double stick tape. I didn't go that route because I didn't want any play or a chance they could fall off.

They are for a VW Golf MK5/MK6. You take off the backing plate that comes with them and attach to your stock buttons.

Thanks PGA! I went with Vladi on Facebook. Someone here told me about him a while back. I priced others and he clearly had the best deal, and a good reputation. He will make it however you want it. Just make your preferences clear
Personally, I don’t get the stripes no matter the color. Seems to clash with everything else inside imo. So I just wanted the it black all the way around with the LED display. Gotta run now but if you need his Facebook its
mine was $800 as seen. Not bad IMO.

FYI Vladi is a real cool guy, but I think he’s 3rd party seller. He’s in the Northwest I believe, but my steering wheel was shipped from China. Oh well. Still seems solid and the thickest steering wheel I’ve ever seen! Love it!

Thanks for the heads up. They sent this white plug in that goes in the OBD port, however, it still has a black and red wire on the steering wheel and I’m not too familiar with all those wires, and dunno which is power and ground. I could guess, but I was hoping someone here would have a better idea, or had done it already. All sorts of colors in there to choose from.

I just bought a coupe and it needs a steering wheel. I don't have FB so is there another way to contact the Vladi guy?

Did you finish the new wheel up??
I did yes. I was waiting to pull the wheel off again to take some pics of how I got it wired so the next guy won’t have any problems. I‘m pulling it off again bc I need to to add the paddle shifters that I bought. I will post all those pics when I do it soon. Turned out fantastic btw!

You’re welcome brother. No aeroforce gauge, and that’s a seat cover to protect those Recaros. Fits like a glove and I used to have a job where I was pretty dirty everyday. No more thank God.
