New oil for our cars, Mobil 1 Supercar.

I attended the Rolex 24 and we had the Mobil racing program manager and an engineer come in for a tech talk to introduce the new oil.

I had just changed my oil and had a hard time finding the correct SKU of 132875. It was in short supply.
The reason is the intro of the new oil and branding. The new oil is what now comes from the factory in Blackwings and Corvettes.

The new oil is labeled Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40.

It is designed for our cars, with the new DexosR rating. According to the Mobil 1 people, it is shipping now and will be available on the shelf at places like Walmart.

Call me skeptical, given the push for environment stuff. But I like the idea that they're at least aware of the need for a "supercar" oil.

Mobile 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 + Lucas Oil Synthetic Oil Stabilizer ... tough to beat this combination, especially when on sale.
When I raced Bikes 87-95, we used Mobil 1 on all the builds and during the race season. when tearing down the motors they were noticeably cleaner and we never had any oil-related failures. We swore by the stuff.
I’m sure chemical compositions have changed. Higher pressure valve springs is where the issues arise.

We all want the “best” of everything for our toys, but I’d stick with what my builder/tuner suggests. I run mobil1 15-50 in my v fwiw

Mobil 1 was great oil 25-30 years ago

15w50 has much more of what is missing from the regular 5w30 type M1 oil but is also not as good as something like Redline or Amsoil in my experience.

Brian engineers & formulates engine & drive train lubricants specifically for the type of motor you have. The fuel catalyst (Aces) is not an additive like all the rest of your off the shelf products, it's a true catalyst. Read up on it for yourselves:
BND Automotive I've been running his lubricants and catalyst in my 1st Gen. V for years. I'm an original owner of an 05'. Cheers!
