Hi all,

Just got home last week from my adventure picking up my 2014 CTS-V. I'm still in the process of getting the title transferred to me. Bought it from a middle man in Arkansas, but its an Oklahoma title. The title is in the mail going back to middle man dude so he can get it notarized in Oklahoma for me.
There were a few hiccups on the trip, but once in possession of my car everything was awesome.
So my front left rim is jacked up. Its out of round and between 23 and 29mph it causes a sound that originally thought was a failing drive shaft carrier bearing. My mechanic checked it out and found the damaged rim. Everything else is good.
Thanks for this forum. It's been very helpful!

🤣🤣🤣

The only thing done to it is a muffler delete. Everything else is bone stock.
I'm gonna start by getting a set of rims to be done with the current issue. Been digging around on the Fb groups for a few days, but no one wants to ship.
Anywho my list of mods is; cold air intake, bigger downpipes, cat delete, exhaust upgrade, performance pulley for the supercharger (I'm a big time newbie here lol,) a flex fuel kit, and a tune. I'm sure I missed a few things but I think it's a good start to get more power and have it still be drivable around town.
The car has 92k and other than the weird vibration that showed up 2 days after I picked it up ( thrown wheel weight anyone) it's solid.
That was my first trip by plane since 9/11 happened. It left a big impact on me as a kid and I'm glad I made the jump!

I was thinking more along the lines of a car seat or 2. Never know though! 😂

Anybody have a cold air intake that they would recommend? I know K&N is good stuff but I'm open to alternatives.
Most will say Airaid and switch out the filter for a Green.
By SE AZ I'm guessing you're like Sierra Vista or something like that?

I'm over in Chandler in the greater Phoenix area. There's a few of us AZ people on here.

For your planned mods, you'll want to either get a better intercooler brick or have yours reinforced so it doesn't collapse. I would suggest the C&R unit for the stock lid. At this point the ZL1 lids are kind of a waste of money, I'm over 800whp on stock lid. Being that we're in AZ you're going to want to do cooling mods first, so intercooler heat exchanger and then either an underhood tank or trunk tank and an upgraded water pump. After that you can do a pulley, solid isolator, flex fuel, aux pump with ALM fuel hat, etc. Also these cars don't have downpipes, you'll be wanting some long tube headers and 3" x-pipe.

For intakes, either do an Airaid with green filter, or you can go all the way with a ported supercharger snout,103mm throttle body and the DDP intake.

I'm in a backwoods town called Fort Thomas. Its a quiet place to live.

Thanks for the info! Cooling mods are what I forgot to mention earlier. Are there any vendors you would recommend for cooling parts?

Ah so East of Globe. Right on.

Dedicated Motorsports, Mont Motorsports, DSX Tuning, and Street Driven Performance are all popular spots to look for platform specific parts.
