Hi everyone, been registered for a while I guess, but this is the first time I can recall posting, haha.

I'm looking at this CTS-V. Salvage title, which I'm okay with (assuming nothing comes up in PPI). I'm going to daily drive it, put miles on it and probably crank up the power a fair bit.

Wondering if anyone knows about it or has things to look for in particular- and of course, thoughts on price.

Seems to be close to fully loaded, if not fully loaded. Recaros , Pano roof , PDR , Carbon fiber package, rear camera.
All stock. He's asking $56k with 40k miles.

Well I guess the price isnt awful and the damage isnt crazy either. It probably needed some front end frame work like the radiator support. There are also a ton of fluid coolers up there so make sure you get a proper PPI. Also keep in mind some insurance companies might have issue insuring a salvage title and consider if/when the car market cools down, cars like this may take a worse hit in value than most.

Me personally I wouldn't buy a salvage luxury/sports car like this unless it was a screaming deal. This is just an OK deal. If you can cough up 10-15K more you could get a 16-17 with around 50k miles clean title car, at least where I am at. The fact that you know what kind of damage there was will help you get a good thorough PPI. Unfortunately more often than not these salvage cars are rebuilt the cheapest way possible. Honestly, considering it was likely a 70K car, it does not look totaled to me. I mean the bumper, hood, headlight, coolers, radiator support, frame work etc couldn't have been that much. Perhaps there was parts availability problems, or there was some kind of frame damage that GM did not have repair procedures for. Like I said earlier, if you can deal with a 16 or 17 with some more miles, I think you are not that far out of your budget.

Okay, so we should rename this thread. PPI came back AWFUL. Seller is clearly misrepresenting this car. Bent frame front AND rear, leaking coolant, misaligned body panels, bad paint, wheels aren't aligned due to bent frame, all kinds of stuff wasn't programed to the car, etc, etc, etc.

Yup they tried to shine a turd. I did not see rear damage in the auction pictures but front and rear frame will total it for sure.

Sounds like the PPI was well worth the cost.. With the sky prices for used cars these days ins companies are not totaling cars that would clearly have been written off a couple of years ago.
As always buyer beware..

Appreciate it but that seems a tad bit high around here (Dallas)

IE:, white 2016 with 10k miles and Recaros at a dealership https://www.kbb.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=658253787

White, 17.5k miles, Recaros for $70k ask. https://www.kbb.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=646229335
We have about the same prices here in Houston. Wholesale prices for used cars have definitely slipped but it seems V3s are holding for now. On the Recaros..if I had a choice I think I would just go standard seats especially if you are a bigger person. I am average build and I find the seats can get a little old on longer drives. It helps to have the settings dialed in but still. They look really cool tho lol. Also I'm in Texas and I miss my cooled seats, which regular seats have.
