UPDATE:

Ok, so it seems the DTC availability is still there. You just need to take a "training" class to get a code to unlock the parameters.

I was initially told you couldn't change the DTC or have access to them.

The features of the older software were great, and I couldn't find any official release notes doc. for the V5. The features and benefits does mention emissions.. I'll keep the version I have if it lets me.

I got confirmation the new version will not let you delete any O2, Cat, or Emissions related DTCs unless you get the code to unlock the DTC's.

My laptop died and the new one has Windows 11 so I had to upgrade to the MPVI2+Pro so I lost the ability to turn off the Cat test and some other goodies.

We all probably saw this coming, or at least suspected something similar would be done.
My worry (OK, paranoia) is that either the Feds will collect the list of customers and VINs for action (or already have) OR newer software upgrades will simply directly report over the 'net when and where you use it.

OK, so. If have tunes from the previous version with DTC already disabled, I'm still good, as in they will still be disabled, or did I just get fucked over by updating ?

Did you take the:

Advanced Parameters Training Some advanced parameters will be locked until
you complete the training. Once you complete the course, enter the code into the software
under HELP > Parameter Access and the parameters will be unlocked.

It is supposed to give you a code to enter once you pass the training by clicking on the generate a new code under Parameter Access in Tuner Tools.

Just wondering if taking the course and getting/entering the code will unlock the DTC's.

But is says you have to resync your device so that concerns me that it will update the firmware and remove certain emissions ability.

there is a new feature in the scanner too (was in the beta only not sure if in new 5.0) where u can choose another vehicle to see if it can add more pids u currently dont have access too if its supported but not listed currently, if u right click on a pid in the channels list and down the bottom will be ''channel config advanced properties''

Yeah, they still won't let you change any 02 codes. 0420 and 430 are changeable thu

Yeah, I did that earlier, and it made no difference, no idea why.
I'll try again tomorrow, maybe I did something wrong.

maby they are all geotagged and they know im in another country, i tried a few LSA tunes and none greyed out

Not supposed to gray out anything according to Bill at HPT. Try again and if that doesn't work I'd say open a ticket with them.
