Hey all,

Following the "rules".. new guy here.

I just picked up a 2011 Coupe. Black with the black/tan inserts interior and a proper row-your-own manual transmission. :)

I bought it sight unseen and drove it 900 miles back home. Trip was uneventful and .. that's defiantly a way to learn a car quick!

Overall I am pretty pleased though it's got some (hopefully) minor issues.

Curious if there are any technical books/websites etc that are good resources? I hate having to ask like a dope every time! :)

I'll post up a pic in a moment. I got home this AM with it and it's FILTHY so I feel like I should give it a quick bath!

ha! :) I wanted a 4dr, but the manual was a requirement and I got what I could. I figured that ANY v was better than NO v at this point.

And my buddy's wife immediately greeted me "Hey Batman!" :) So, that was a win. haha

Welcome to the MODNESS!!
Congrats on finding the proper V!
WE LIKE PITCHAS!!!!

Come inside, look around, learn about your amazing car!
First, as it's a 2011 Coupe, it is very likely to a "Black Diamond Edition" which has an option code (listed on the sticker under the spare tire well cover) of 'PCH'.
The BDE package was created to introduce the new Coupe body style and the new paint color "Black Diamond Tricoat". The BDE package AND the BDT paint was exclusive to the 2011 Coupe.
The BDT paint was only available in 2011 as part of the BDE package AFAIK.
The BDE included the aforementioned paint color,19" Satin Graphite wheels, yellow calipers, Ebony Recaro seats with Saffron inserts and Sapele wood trim.
After 2011, all of these things were available on various models, as separate options.

Does your Coupe have the sunroof?

When I got my Coupe in 2014, my 8 year old nephew exclaimed "You bought Darth Vader's car!".

The Coupe is definitely the better car. I know sedan owners gonna hate on that. But a two-door, supercharged, manual transmission Cadillac is about as far from "typical Cadillac" as you can get. It's the least Cadillac-ey Cadillac you can get. A real sports car. 4-doors are family sedans with big motors, not true sports cars. :)

Thanks folks.

MrSurly. I think it's just "black". I just looked in the trunk and the only removeable panel is the battery cover, and there is no sheet there. So I am guessing I'll have to pull the trunk liner and that was a bridge too far for this exact moment. :) To me it's just a "clear" black. No metal flake, nothing special about it. I don't have a spare tire or spare tire well. A depression where the spare would go.. but only a hook for the inflator to have lived.

I do have a sunroof and I do have the Recaros. I do have the saffron inserts. No idea what the wood is! The calipers are silver and the wheels are a bronze color.

Well the option code list was a sticker on the underside of the (unfortunately removable) "spare tire well cover" which was a flat D-shaped carpeted lid for the little well. It sounds like your car is not a BDE of course, it's painted 'Black Raven' and has the ebony/saffron interior. It has the standard color calipers (the brake components are 100% identical to all other Gen2 Vs, BDE or not; the only variable regarding the brakes is the paint color for the calipers.)

You can go to the dealer parts counter with your VIN and they can print out the entire list of codes for every item installed on your car.

For general info purposes,
ALL Gen2 Vs have the same drivetrains, same HP/tq same wheelbase and almost every component is identical through all years of the V2.
And...alMOST every driveline component is the same across all body styles; notable variation is that auto trans equipped cars have a 3.23:1 limited-slip differential and proper manual transmission equipped cars have a 3.73:1 limited-slip differential
The track is slightly different on the coupe due to the wider wheels/tires.
The bodies of the Gen2 Vs are identical to the non-V cts from the firewall, back except for the rear bumper covers and the coupe's trunk lid.
