So getting time to replace brake pads. I like OEM feel and don't care much about dust (daily driver, it gets dirty).

But what rotors are cool looking?

I've had R1 for the past few years and they work fine, but I've never been happy with the casting lines making them look like I run a wheel spacer....

So what's light, looks cool, and isn't R1?

(No, full on carbon for $8k isn't realistically in the cards)....

I'm waiting for TBM to come out with a kit for the V. I was talking to a friend with a TBSS that just dipped into the 7s and he said they work well besides looking cool. He could stop with just brakes from 175 if there are any problems with the chute. Of course, with all he's done his TBSS weighs in about 3600 pounds. Roof and quarter panels are steel due to class rules but everything else is carbon fiber.

I like my R1 Concepts Geomet Series Drilled & Slotted w/ Hawk HPS 5.0 Pads. I do think I would keep the R1 and go back to OEM pads, though.
I've got the same setup. Definitely looking for different pads when needed.

Thanks for the suggestions - I had forgotten some of these. My biggest complaint with R1 is the hub has a casting line in it that almost looks like a spacer.

So lightweight will be my new focus.

I'd almost go carbon but don't want to try to find second hand for $6-8k...

I may try KNS Brakes, they have DBA slotted rotors. Even better, they have DBA slotted rotor rings for the stock Brembo two-piece front rotors that are supposed to fit the OEM Brembo center hat. Surprised no one here has tried them.

I'm actually needing to do brakes for the first time in my V, impressive IMO. Rear rotors are to the pad backing but the fronts still have lots of life left, somehow. Got my rear rotors turned with lots of thickness left. But I'd like to swap everything out. No idea what pads I'm going to use. Plenty of time to think about it, suspension is out while I tackle the control arm bushings.

I run Brakenetics drilled/slotted G3500 grade cast iron, Powerstop z26 carbon-fiber ceramic pads, and GoodRidge SS lines. Work better than the OEM setup and reduced dusting by at least 95%. Big time added bonus is pad/rotor breakin is very simple, quick and works great. I have no complaints at all with this setup and it will stand you on your head.

EBC dimpled and slotted are good value and perform well. Stock pads. Of course the pics are freshly installed as the black coating disappears with the first few brake engagements.

Money no object get some lightweight 2 piece rotors. View attachment 159443 View attachment 159444
Dimpled rotor vs drilled...interesting.

I have the R1 Slots with EBC Red Stuff and like the look of the slots. The stopping feel has always felt good and the dusting was significantly better than stock pads.

However, I swear that I seated/broke in the brakes right, but I've ALWAYS had an intermittent squeal from them when warmed up....so I'm looking for options too.

I have Z26 pads and they perform horribly under hard braking. Try braking from 100+ or consecutive panic stops. They're horrible if you're pushing it even a little bit. This is with brand new R1 rotors, SS lines, and RBF600.

How you liking the DBA rotors ? About to order front and rear my OEM rotors are fried. Going to stay with stock pads. Not sure if to go with stoptech premium slotted or DBA t3.
I like them a lot, haven’t had any issues. I went dba cause of the cool slotted design and the black paint on the areas that can show rust
