I really hope that this doesn't get labeled as "political" but a friend has catalog what has gone with this stuff in DC.

Government is broken.
These are some of the things in the House stimulus bill.....
Honestly, we'd really would be better off just throwing money from helicopters.
$100,000,000 to Nasa, because ??
$20,000,000,000 to the USPS
$300,000,000 to the Endowment for the Arts
$300,000,000 for the Endowment for the Humanities
$15,000,000 for Veteran's Employment Training / for when the GI Bill isn't enough
$435,000,000 for mental health support
$30,000,000,000 for the Department of Education stabilization fund/ because that will keep people employed
$200,000,000 to Safe Schools Emergency Response to Violence Program
$300,000,000 to Public Broadcasting / NPR has to be bought by the dems
$500,000,000 to Museums and Libraries / Who the hell knows how we are going to use it
$720,000,000 to Social Security Admin / but get this only 200,000,000 is to help people. The rest is for admin costs
$25,000,000 for Cleaning supplies for the Capital Building / I **** you not it's on page 136
$25,000,000 additional salary for House of Representatives p134
$3,000,000,000 upgrade to the IT department at the VA
$315,000,000 for State Department Diplomatic Programs
$95,000,000 for the Agency of International Development
$300,000,000 for International Disaster Assistance
$300,000,000 for Migrant and Refugee Assistance pg 147
$90,000,000 for the Peace Corp pg 148
$13,000,000 to Howard University pg 121
$107,000,000 Millenium Change Corporation pg 153
$492,000,000 Grants to National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) pg 167
$526,000,000 Grants to Amtrak to remain available if needed through 2021 pg 168
$3,000,000 Martime Adminstration pg 172
$5,000,000 Salaries and Expensive Office of the Inspector General pg 172
This isn’t even scratching the surface. Any politician that thinks this is the time for this nonsense, needs to face a firing squad.
The Tree of Liberty is looking mighty thirsty.
** EDIT TO ADD**
$2,500,000 Public and Indian Housing pg 175
$5,000,000 Community Planning and Development pg 175
$2,500,000 Office of Housing

If you look deep enough you will find that most of the spending there are relatives related to the spending from those passing the bills.

Case in point $90,000,000 for the Peace Corp pg 148 John kerry's daughter has been milking her contacts with the peace corp for year under her global charity.
30,000,000,000 for teachers unions.
$300,000,000 for Migrant and Refugee Assistance
$3,000,000,000 upgrade to the IT department at the VA thats 3 billion. without even looking at the RFP I could make it happen for 500 million.

Just follow the money, its fucking sickening. I'm trying with all my might to meet payroll and keeping the doors open and I look at 300 million for each migrants and refugees and international disaster relief, 13 million to Howard university, $315,000,000 for State Department Diplomatic Programs, $95,000,000 for the Agency of International Development. I hate them all with a passion and WTF does that have to do with the american taxpayer and small business trying to survive right now.

I think both you you => m13s and Blades, will understand this;

Because we work under what is called a system today called Keynesian Economics,
and what is also known as the Fiat Money System, we allow the Fed to
'Print Money' (it's really counterfeit) and purchase Treasury Bills with that
so called 'Counterfeit' money.

In fact, they don't really even have to print it, it's all done
digitally now, as only about 3% of the money in America
is physical money now.

Then, The Fed or Central Banking system purchases Treasury Bills
with this phony money. Yet, The Fed is guaranteed a profit, not interest
on these purchases.

Think about this; the interest rates are hovering around Zero Percent,
but The Fed still gets about a 6% profit on the money they use to
purchase Treasury Bills. . .

What is going to pay for that?
Guaranteed payback will be via 'Inflation'.

If instead deflation occurs, we will all be flushed down the 'Toilet' once again. . .

So, now we are going to give away something over $1-Trillion Dollars
and, we are already deep in debt.

Overall , the Fed's liabilities increases or decreases whenever
The Fed buys or sells it assets.

With the above in mind, I think it was around 2002 that The Fed
understood that their 'Balance Sheet' contained some ''Toxic Assets",
so they began to purchase mortgage backed securities.

In years past, The Fed had 'Boosted' it's balance sheet mostly by
increasing the 'Base Currency', which in turn increased the
money in circulation. This of course fueled inflation.

Around the time of the 2007 to 2008 financial crisis, The Fed
had about $870 Billion on its books.

By increasing the 'Base Currency' after that, via such tactics
as Quantitative Easing, they boosted their balance sheets
by 2009 to around $2.2 Trillion and by March 2020 they
had boosted their balance sheets to $4.75 Trillion.

-you can only kick the can down the road so far-
Now, looking at the latest ~$1-Trillion Dollar give-away
with the interest rate hovering around Zero Percent, how
much sooner will it be before we all have to 'Pay The Piper'.

Now, no conspiracy theories here from me, but think about
the mortgage crisis of 2008. What happened to all of that
real estate that was taken from middle america that The Fed
backed, and how much is that real estate worth today. . . .

In closing; Keynesian Economics has never worked, neither
has Socialism. They are simply ideologies that sound great,
but in practice don't / won't / can't work.

By Nixon moving us off of the 'Gold Standard' in 1971, and
moving us to a 'Fiat Money' system has not worked in our
favor.

And putting the word 'Democratic' before Socialism doesn't
change a thing, as it is not who votes for whom, but it is
'Who Counts The Votes'. . . .

Respectfully,
RD

Karch I am trying to be as respectful of the political clause so if I get out of line let me know. This issue is going to affect every man, woman and child in the US and it is 100% the fault of leadership in this country for the last 50 years. I really can't fault the Chicoms. They have a taste of success and in the last 25 years have risen to the the worlds #2 and soon to be #1 superpower.

They think long term and we don't We created the beast, fed it and now it is going to gobble everything in it's path. Watching what I am seeing for the stimulus package is laughable, both parties playing savior when they created this fucking mess. My company may or may not survive, I am trying everything in my power to keep it afloat but like most small businesses I don't have huge cash reserves and time is the enemy. Without revenue, game over. I don't even lose sleep about it anymore because there are so many things out of my control. I can control what I can control and do so.

The sooner it burns down the faster we can start rebuilding is the way I am looking at it. The current generation is in for a huge awakening and it's remarkable your not hearing much about climate change, transgender bathroom right rights, green new deal and other bullshit that these political frauds spill on us.

Stay safe everyone.
Peace
Michael

Thanks Duck well written and I am in total agreement.

A few points about the fiat money and the dollar as the worlds reserve currency. The ability to finance endless wars and support the MIC (which Eisenhower warned about 70 years ago) and trading for oil in dollars.

There are a bunch of initiatives to circumvent it, such as BRIC's and even the Euro, once one of these replaces the dollar as the worlds currency, the shooting will start.

I don't know what the answer is but at some point this will collapse as it is 3 card monte.

Will this spending bill help Small Business? I bet dollars to donuts i won't see a nickel and if I do it will be in a form of a guaranteed loan that I have to sign my life away for. The little guy always gets fucked as we do not have friends in the right places.

Stop the ride I want to get off.

Bringing the topic back to COVID-19, here is a video worth watching. Pay attention as the numbers begin to shoot up in March and take note of how the US starts to moves its way up.

This is one occasion where it pays to be last not first.

As was mentioned earlier if you’re willing to spend hours on the phone you can get your mortgage, loans, insurance, car payments and some credit cards payments deferred. Knowing that I don’t have to worry about covering insurance for my employees is a huge relief. Certainly the difference atm for me to be able keep everyone on the payroll despite no revenue. Hopefully there’s some real help for the small business owners in the very near future.

Blades- did you look those numbers up? Are those confirmed?
the small guy will get dick from all this, maybe a lengthy loan process imposing even more insurance requirements and annual financial disclosures. That’s about the best you can hope for

I did find the bill online, it’s over 1000 pages.
im reminded of that scene from AVIATOR where he asks Brewster if he wrote any of that bill.
“Lotta words. You write all of them? Did you write any of them?”

Three dogs in this thread just can't get off the bone. What the government is doing should be no surprise. The little man got nothing out of TARP and won't see a damn thing out of this stimulus package. Getting all worked up about it is a waste of time and probably not good for your health.

Anyhow, I've found a pretty decent workout routine from Men's Health. Couple this with a run or bike ride and I think I'll stay in good shape.

I have a new found respect for teachers. I still go to work because my projects are still deemed essential but I come home early to help out with the kids 1, 8 and 9. The online lesson plans for the older boys are pretty demanding and take up a good 4-5 hours of their day. My kids are pretty good students but even they need help and have plenty of questions. Can't imagine doing this for twenty kids with a few bad apples mixed in every day.

I ordered two all grain brew kits. Pliny the Elder and a Czech Pilsner. Ordering ingredient piece meal is no good because yeast is sold out but for some reason you can get the yeast if you order a kit.

Wide open freeways are pretty nice. I had some bits added by Matt G. last month, getting to test out the new power quite frequently. Gas prices nice too, filled up the Sequoia today, $3.09 for regular.

The two hospitals I work at are eerily empty except for patients in beds. No visitors allowed, gel in gel out at the front door. Not many doctors around because elective surgeries are postponed, MRI department lobby is empty. Strange times.

Flex fuel @ $1.49 got me wishing I didn't have this intercooler leak...#motivation2TIG?

(Ive got a pinhole leak in one of the channels losing a couple ounces per driving session, now it appears to be causing my alternator belt to slip, so maintenance driving is no WOT right now...ordered new belt and tensioner and need to fix this thing already)
